Original Suits star Gina Torres, who portrays Jessica Pearson, reveals a surprising detail about Suits: L.A. and its franchise connection.

Screen Rant recently interviewed Torres at the ongoing Tribeca Film Festival for her upcoming movie The Everything Pot, where she also chatted a little bit about the Suits franchise. As the Suits: L.A. spinoff series is in the works, Torres dropped a bit of a surprise, saying that the NBC show is, in fact, not part of the same universe as the original Suits drama, sharing the following:

Gina Torres: No, that’s a completely different universe that Jessica is not a part of.
