As the fifth Monsterverse movie, The New Empire features the latest alliance between Godzilla and King Kong, as they battle against the evil Skar King and work to save the world and the Great Apes. The New Empire has received tremendous reviews and has been thriving at the box office since it was released on March 29.
That box office domination has finally culminated in a major milestone. After weeks of effort, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is finally conquering the rest of the Monsterverse movies. With over $570 million at the worldwide box office, Deadline reports that it is now the highest-grossing movie in the franchise. Kong: Skull Island was the previous record holder, as it earned $568.6 million.
