I know exactly how Netflix’s One Piece season 2 must end to perfectly tease seasons 3 and 4 of the live-action show. One Piece was renewed for season 2 shortly after the premiere of the first season, with a video from Eiichiro Oda himself confirming the series was going to continue. The announcement also teased the introduction of Chopper, one of many One Piece characters who will debut in live-action soon. One Piece season 1 was good, but my favorite arcs from the manga are yet to happen.

Although it can be frustrating to calculate how many seasons it would take for One Piece live-action to catch up with the anime, I am very excited to see how many arcs the Netflix show will cover. Changes to the source material will have to be made, otherwise, it will be impossible for the story to advance at a suitable pace for a Hollywood live-action anime adaptation. Still, One Piece season 2 and potential future seasons should try to follow the manga’s structure as closely as possible.

One Piece Season 2 Should End With Nico Robin Joining The Crew

Assuming One Piece season 2 will cover all of the Arabasta saga, there is no better way to end the season than with Nico Robin joining the Straw Hats. The shock with which the rest of the crew take the news that Luffy is welcoming Miss All Sunday into their ship would be a hilarious, fun way to wrap up the series while also setting up Robin’s importance to the story. Although I’m not sure whether One Piece can fit the entire Arabasta saga into eight episodes, it can be done.

The Arabasta arc, which refers to the final chapters of the Arabasta saga, should be given at least two episodes in the live-action series. Plenty of important things will happen in the first half of One Piece season 2, such as the introduction of the Baroque Works and Tony Tony Chopper’s origin story. However, it is only when the Straw Hats arrive in the Kingdom of Arabasta that the stakes get high. Nico Robin was originally a villain in One Piece working for Crocodile as Miss All Sunday, which is why her joining the crew is such an important moment.

How Nico Robin Joining The Straw Hats Would Set Up Seasons 3 & 4

Nico Robin is front and center in Water 7 and Enies Lobby

Nico Robin continues to be one of the most important One Piece characters after her introduction in season 2. That said, I’m particularly excited to see where her story would go in seasons 3 and 4 of the live-action adaptation. Netflix has only officially renewed One Piece for season 2 as of the writing of this article, but given how successful the first season was for the streaming platform, I’m confident that the show will continue for a few more years. One Piece live-action catching up with the anime is a distant, perhaps impossible dream, but other milestones are quite reasonable.

For example, Netflix’s One Piece covering Water 7 and Enies Lobby would be a massive achievement for the show considering how important those two arcs are to the story, particularly in the pre-time skip era. Nico Robin’s story is front and center in the Water 7 saga, during which viewers are supposed to question whether she is really on Luffy’s side. Despite Robin’s betrayal, Luffy and the Straw Hat pirates never give up on their friend. This leads into one of the most iconic One Piece scenes – Robin’s “I want to live” line from the end of Enies Lobby.

Nico Robin Can Become A Fan-Favorite Character In One Piece Live-Action

Robin is one of the most important One Piece characters

Nico Robin is among the most popular One Piece characters, which will likely be the case for the live-action adaptation as well if the character is handled correctly. One Piece season 2 must not reveal Nico Robin’s backstory, which should only come into play during the Enies Lobby arc. Robin’s mysteriousness adds a lot to the character and is paid off later in the story, which is why Netflix’s One Piece should avoid showing flashbacks of her past too early. Luffy chose to trust Robin without knowing her backstory after all.

One Piece’s Nico Robin is older than the other Straw Hats and was once their enemy. Still, they welcome her into the crew and treat her as an equal despite not knowing everything about her. Part of what makes Water 7 such a great saga is seeing Luffy’s crew do everything in their power to save Robin even after she betrays them. Robin’s incredible character arc starts the moment she sneaks into the Going Merry and asks to join Luffy’s crew, a scene that I cannot wait to see in Netflix’s One Piece season 2.
