The movie adaptation of the new Hunger Games novel Sunrise On the Reaping has received an official release date. The five-movie franchise is based on the young adult novel series of the same name by Suzanne Collins, which incorporates the original trilogy, published between 2008 and 2010, and the 2020 prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The upcoming Sunrise On the Reaping, which is another prequel set during the Fiftieth Hunger Games, is set to be published on March 18, 2025.
On the same day that the book’s publication was announced, Lionsgate has announced that they are mounting a film adaptation of Sunrise On the Reaping. The movie, which will be helmed by returning director Francis Lawrence, is set to premiere on November 20, 2026.
