Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6.

The world of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School is constantly expanding, and episode 6 seemingly confirmed its connection to the CW teen drama television show Riverdale. Max’s slasher mystery series, created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (who also developed Riverdale) and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, is a spinoff of the original Pretty Little Liars, meaning that it also takes place in the same universe as the popular Freeform show. However, Aguirre-Sacasa has made it his mission to connect his latest project to the one he is undoubtedly most known for.

Pretty Little Liars on Max follows a new group of Liars, consisting of Imogen, Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa, but it ventures more into the horror genre than the first series ever did. Original Sin, the spinoff’s first season, featured the girls facing Max’s (much more creepy) version of “A,” and Summer School, aka season 2, has the group of teenagers going up against a new villain known as Bloody Rose. Outside the horrific tests and brutal murders, Pretty Little Liars: Summer School still finds time for light-hearted moments, like one character casually name-dropping a Riverdale character in conversation.

Greg Is Related To A Riverdale Character In Pretty Little Liars: Summer School

Kevin Keller Is Greg’s Cousin

Towards the end of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6, Greg approaches Faran at the pool’s Pride party to apologize for being involved with “Redemption House” and shows her how he is trying to be a better person. Greg explains that he quit “Redemption House” and broke up with Kelly. He also slips in that he is an ally to the LGBTQ+ community because he has a gay cousin named Kevin who lives in Riverdale (and Greg claims he would never want to do anything to hurt his cousin).

Greg is obviously referring to Riverdale‘s Kevin Keller, who was played by Casey Cott in all seven seasons of the CW series. So, in a surprise turn of events, a Pretty Little Liars: Summer School character is related to Kevin from Riverdale. However, what is possibly even more shocking is that Greg is the one whose cousin is Kevin.

Season 1 Referenced The Sisters Of Quiet Mercy

Greg’s Riverdale reference in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6 isn’t the first time the slasher drama has mentioned Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s previous show. In the first season, Original Sin, Tabby and Imogen ventured to Rosewood, where they spoke with the Radley Sanitarium’s former orderly, Eddie Lamb. Eddie explained that Angela Waters’ mother (Rose Waters) had been transferred to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy after the Radley closed. As Riverdale fans know, the Sisters of Quiet Mercy was a horrific establishment featured throughout the CW series, meaning that Max’s Pretty Little Liars became connected to Riverdale in season 1.
