The first images for Emily in Paris season 4 reveal the fashionable return of the Netflix series. First released in 2020, the Lily Collins-starring romance series centers around an American Midwesterner who finds herself hired for a Parisian marketing firm in order for her to give her perspective on American interests and culture. The series has run for three seasons so far, with Emily in Paris season 4 arriving on Thursday, August 15.

Now, Netflix has revealed the first images for Emily in Paris season 4. The images reveal Collins’ Emily sporting multiple key looks from the upcoming season, including a vibrant fur coat, a royal blue pants suit, and an all-yellow outfit. One image shows Emily and Mindy standing together, wearing complimentary outfits. The images largely focus on Emily, but other characters such as Luc, Julien, and Alfie are also heavily featured. Can Emily in Paris Restore Its Reputation in Season 4?

These images do very little by way of revealing specific plots for Emily in Paris season 4. The Emily in Paris season 3 ending, however, leaves a lot of questions to be answered. For one, Emily is in a fated love triangle with Gabriel and Alfie, both of whom she has feelings for. Neither of these men are necessarily available, as Gabriel is expecting a baby with ex-fiance Camille and Alfie has already left Emily once. This sets the protagonist up in dire straits going into Emily in Paris season 4, which must be resolved in the upcoming season.

Emily In Paris: Gabriel’s Relationship Timeline Explained

Love triangles, broken vows, and romantic twists have abounded since Emily’s neighbor Gabriel first appeared in Netflix’s Emily in Paris.

Emily in Paris season 4 is situated in an interesting place within the series overall. While the first three seasons have all had fresh Tomatometers so far, the show has failed to connect with audiences in the same way. In fact, every season in Emily in Paris has gotten under 60% audience approval ratings on the site, with the highest being season 1 at a still-unsatisfactory 53%. Emily in Paris season 4 must thus work to resuscitate the series, or else likely see the demise of the Netflix show.

Style over substance is a major element of the complaints surrounding Emily in Paris. The show has been nominated for six Emmys, but only one of said Emmys has been for a non-technical category, as Emily in Paris was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2021. According to the Netflix pictures, Emily in Paris season 4 certainly brings this award-nominated style back, but the real question will be whether it can up its game on a content level.

Netflix’s Emily In Paris is a comedy series starring Lily Collins as Emily Cooper, a college graduate who travels from Chicago to Paris when she lands a one-in-a-lifetime job opportunity that allows her to enjoy French culture and glamour while she overhauls a local marketing firm. From the mind of Beverly Hills 90210 and Sex and the City creator Darren Star, Emily In Paris takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the cultural differences between the United States and France.
