The Frasier reboot season 2 has cast a new character that would reunite Kelsey Grammer with a former co-star of his. Despite the Frasier season 1 finale effectively resolving Frasier’s main goal when he came back to Boston, his final act in Beantown will continue Production for the show’s sophomore year has been going on for a while now, and while specific plot details about what to expect are being kept under wraps, Frasier season 2 has been actively casting for fresh players. The latest one will see Grammer share the screen with an old co-star from the late 2010s.

Per Deadline, Patricia Heaton is joining Frasier season 2 as Holly. Described as a “down-to-earth, unpretentious, and openly mocking of overly-intellectual types,” she is a “Boston native who tends bar at upscale restaurants and events.” Confident and comfortable, Frasier is drawn to her because of these qualities. Grammer and Heaton sharing the screen marks the first time since they headlined the 2007 Fox multi-camera comedy Back to You, created by Modern Family‘s Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd. Subsequently, he guest starred on her CBS show Carol’s Second Act.

How Holly Fits In Frasier Season 2’s Story

Frasier Season 2 May See Frasier With A New Love Interest

At the end of the original show, Frasier followed his heart and got together with Charlotte in Chicago. They lived together for several years but they broke up just before Martin died. By the time he returned to Boston, he was already looking for another life partner. Frasier’s romantic conquests have always been part of his storyline. Frasier season 1’s best episode featured him and Freddy pining over the same woman, which, as expected, ended up badly. Holly’s arrival in season 2, however, may change the snooty therapist-turned-educator’s fate when it comes to love.

Based on the limited information about Heaton’s character in Frasier season 2, an attraction from Frasier is clearly established. Looking at all the women he dated in the past, he doesn’t really have a type. Instead, he goes for ladies that he has a connection with. So while Holly may not be cultured the same way that he is, she could be his match. This kind of partnership worked wonders for Niles and Daphne. Beyond that, just having someone like her can resurrect an old dynamic from the original series, wherein Frasier gets mocked for being a wannabe elitist.

The Frasier reboot season 2’s premiere title may seem uninteresting, but it has a connection to the original Seattle show’s best-rated episode.

It’s uncertain how many episodes Holly will be in Frasier season 2. The majority of Frasier’s old flames in the Seattle series only appeared in just one offering. However, if Paramount+ is planning on building something with Holly and Frasier, she may eventually become a series regular, which would drastically change the dynamic of the reboot.
