The most obvious returning character in the Bad Boys franchise is one of the titular Bad Boys himself, Mike Lowrey. Played by Will Smith, Mike Lowrey is one of the main characters in the franchise, with his missions at the Miami PD alongside Marcus Burnett being the main focus of the series. Mike Lowrey appears in all four Bad Boys films, and if the franchise continues, he will presumably return again.

In the world of Bad Boys, Mike Lowrey is the wildcard, with his antics often getting his partner into all kinds of trouble. This is why the Miami PD and their former police captain is always getting onto the duo. Although Mike Lowrey’s past and backstory is vague, it is known that he was opposed to settling down for years, although he finally has a wife in Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

Marcus Burnett

Martin Lawrence

Marcus Burnett is the other half of the titular policing duo, with him being the more comedic one of the two. Played by Martin Lawrence, Marcus Burnett is the more grounded of the police officers, with him often responding to his partner’s antics with fear. However, Marcus isn’t afraid to get his work done, with him leaping into action to take down the various drug organizations throughout the four films.

Ever since the first film, Marcus’ family has been a big focus of the franchise, with his wife and kids consistently appearing throughout the movies. Marcus himself appears in all four Bad Boys movies so far, and it is likely that he will continue appearing until the franchise comes to an end. Marcus makes up much of the heart of the Bad Boys series, with him being a staple of the movies.

Captain Conrad Howard

Captain Conrad Howard is the high-strung captain of Mike and Marcus at the Miami Police Department, with his stress and anger being one of the character’s defining characteristics. Played by Joe Pantoliano, Captain Howard is the one who assigns Mike and Marcus’ various missions, with him almost always regretting his trust in the duo later in the films when the chaos that they cause becomes apparent.

Captain Howard appears in all four films in the Bad Boys franchise, with him being the police captain since the very beginning. However, Captain Howard’s role in Bad Boys for Life changed, with him actually getting assassinated. Despite his death, Captain Howard returns in Bad Boys: Ride or Die in the form of videos that he recorded before his death, with the film focusing on Mike and Marcus’ attempts to clear his name after he becomes linked to the drug trade.

Theresa Burnett

Theresa Randle, Tasha Smith

Theresa Burnett is the wife of Marcus Burnett and the mother of their children, with her having a role in each of the Bad Boys movies. In the first film, Theresa risks destroying their whole mission, as she becomes increasingly upset at Mike and Marcus’ identity switch plan, something that was kept a secret from her. Theresa has a smaller role in the subsequent films, but she is always at the heart of Marcus’ character.

In the first three films in the Bad Boys saga, Theresa Burnett is played by actress Theresa Randle. However, Bad Boys: Ride or Die made the interesting decision to recast the character, with her being portrayed by Tasha Smith in the fourth film. It isn’t yet known why Bad Boys: Ride or Die recast this character, with the change being noticeable in the fourth film.

Megan Burnett

Tiffany Samuels, Bianca Bethune

Mean Burnett is another member of Marcus Burnett’s family in the Bad Boys movies, with her being the daughter of Marcus and Theresa. Megan is the youngest child in the Burnett family and the only daughter, with Marcus’ different treatment of his daughter being a recurring joke throughout the franchise. Marcus often becomes involved in his daughter’s dating life, a trend that repeats in each movie.

Megan first appeared in the original Bad Boys film, with her being portrayed by Tiffany Samuels. However, the character was recast in Bad Boys II, where she was then played by Bianca Bethune. Bethune has continued to play Megan in each subsequent film, with her appearing all the way up to Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Although her role in the films are small, she appears in some of the most memorable moments.

James Burnett is another one of Marcus’ children in the Bad Boys movies, with him appearing throughout the franchise. James’ role in the Bad Boys franchise is fairly small, with him not having much of an impact on the main story. However, he appears in many of the scenes in which Marucs’ family is shown off, making him an important part of Marcus’ character and motivations.

Unlike his sister, James Burnett has consistently been played by the same actor throughout the Bad Boys franchise. Actor Cory Hodges has played James Burnett in each Bad Boys movie since the very first one, with his return in Bad Boys for Life being a nice surprise. Much like his siblings, the Bad Boys franchise simply wouldn’t work without his role in the family of Marcus Burnett.

Quincy Burnett

Scott Cumberbatch

Quincy Burnett is the final of the three Burnett children in the Bad Boys franchise, with him recurring alongside his family throughout the various movies in the series. Quincy Burnett is the son of Marcus and Theresa and the brother of Megan and James, and much like James, Quincy’s role in the franchise isn’t huge. Quincy doesn’t have much of an impact on the story of Bad Boys, but since he is a family member of one of the franchise’s main characters, it makes sense for him to keep returning.

Quincy Burnett has also been consistently played by the same actor throughout the Bad Boys movies, similar to his brother James. In each of the Bad Boys movies, Quincy is played by actor Scott Cumberbatch, with him remaining a staple of the franchise since the first movie.

Reggie McDonald

Dennis Greene

Reggie McDonald is a recurring character in the Bad Boys movies, with him also being a member of the Burnett family in later films. Reggie McDonald started out as the boyfriend of Megan Burnett, one that Marcus wasn’t too approving of. However, Bad Boys for Life reveals that Reggie and Megan have gotten married, with them even having a baby. In between films, Reggie became a Marine staff sergeant, although he still hasn’t earned the respect of his father-in-law.

Reggie McDonald first appeared in Bad Boys II, with him being played by Dennis Greene. The actor has continued to portray Reggie throughout the latter three Bad Boys movies, with the character even returning in Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Seeing Dennis Greene return to the cast of Bad Boys: Ride or Die is a fun treat, as his conflicts with Marcus have consistently been some of the funniest parts of the series.

Fletcher

John Salley

Fletcher is a recurring character throughout the Bad Boys franchise, with him being another member of the Miami Police Department. Fletcher is a tech guru who specializes in hacking, with him helping Mike and Marcus out on their various cases. Fletcher started out in custody of the Miami PD, but Mike and Marcus ask for his help on a case, leading to him getting a job at the department.

Played by John Salley, Fletcher made his debut in the first movie, with him returning for the second. Fletcher was sadly absent from Bad Boys for Life, but he makes his grand return to the franchise in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, bringing back the classic franchise character. This comes after Fletcher’s major role in the spinoff TV series L.A.’s Finest, in which he helps out Sydney Burnett, Marcus’ sister.

Armando Lowrey

Jacob Scipio

Armando Lowrey, formerly Armando Aretas, is the son of Mike Lowrey and the daughter of Isabel Aretas. While infiltrating the Aretas drug cartel undercover, Mike fell in love with Isabel, with them having a child named Armando. However, Mike eventually revealed his police officer identity and arrested Isabel, leaving Armando behind. Armando acts as one of the main antagonists of Bad Boys for Life, although he gets the opportunity to help Mike and Marcus out in Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

Armando first appeared in Bad Boys for Life, where he was played by Jacob Scipio. Scipio returns to the role of Amrando in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, with him becoming one of the main characters of the Bad Boys franchise. Armando is a fun addition to the recent movies, with him adding more depth to the character of Mike Lowrey.

Rita Secada

Bad Boys for Life introduced the AMMO unit of the Miami Police Department, with AMMO being a specialized militaristic task force that is designed to help fight dangerous drug cartels. In the world of Bad Boys, Rita Secada is the head of Miami’s AMMO division, with her being over Mike and Marcus once they join the team. This is a complicated dynamic, as it is revealed that Rita and Mike Lowrey used to date, with the duo’s former love life making things even more difficult to navigate.

Rita Secada first appeared in Bad Boys for Life, alongside the other new AMMO characters. In the film, Rita is played by actress Paola Núñez, who reprises her role in Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Rita is a fun new addition to the Miami PD cast of characters, with her filling Captain Howard’s thematic role upon his death in the third film.

Kelly is another character who has played a big role in the modern Bad Boys movies, with her being another member of AMMO. Kelly is the weapons specialist of the AMMO team, with her playing a vital role as the one who is knowledgable about the advanced technology that the new branch of the Miami Police Department uses. Although she doesn’t have a massive impact on the main story of the Bad Boys franchise, she is a fun addition to the team.

Kelly made her Bad Boys debut in Bad Boys for Life, with her being introduced alongside the other AMMO characters. In the film, Kelly is played by Vanessa Hudgens, who returned to the role in the fourth film Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Some fans were worried that she wouldn’t be returning, much like Charles Melton’s Bad Boys character, so it is nice to see her back in the role once again.

Alexander Ludwig

Dorn is another member of the AMMO unit at the Miami Police Department, with him being a new addition to the Bad Boys‘ storylines that have appeared in the two modern films. As part of the AMMO team, Dorn is the technical expert, with his role as the man who knows everything about AMMO’s advanced tech making him pretty important to the team. Much like Kelly, Dorn’s role in Mike and Marcus’ story isn’t huge, but he does have a hand in the franchise’s modern narratives.

Dorn first appears in Bad Boys for Life, with him being established as one of the important members of the Miami PD’s new group of young officers. Dorn is played by Alexander Ludwig in the third film, with him returning alongside his AMMO buddies in Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

The fourteenth and final returning character in the Bad Boys franchise is an odd one: Manny the Butcher. Manny the Butcher is another criminal in the Bad Boys universe, with him earning his nickname due to his violence. Manny the Butcher plays a small role in the Bad Boys franchise, but he is still incredibly memorable for one big reason.
