Streaming Service Netflix has added the first season of the boxing anime Hajime no Ippo to its offerings. This collection, subtitled “The Fighting!” comprises the anime’s first 76 episodes. While the first 75 have English dubs, the very last, originally a DVD-only special, just has English subtitles.

Netflix began hosting the series at the beginning of the month, as reported by the WTK X account. Ippo’s arrival on Netflix is welcome news for subscribers, though it will be directly competing with Crunchyroll, which hosts the same episodes, plus two more.

Netflix Continues To Grow Anime Offerings With Sports Classic

George Morikawa’s Hajime no Ippo is one of the seminal sports and martial arts of the industry, which combines the shonen formula with a slightly more grounded combat sport, creating a more approachable setting filled with the same dramatic bombast. Hajime no Ippo is so renowned that it even inspired elements of Creed III. With its acquisition, Netflix continues to become a more appealing space for anime viewers by providing this classic. However, both it and Crunchyroll still offer incomplete experiences, even if it is the most essential section – Hajime no Ipp has three seasons in total.
