Readers have been eagerly looking forward to the ending of Batman’s latest and biggest story, with Batman #148 being the conclusion to the “Dark Prisons” storyline before DC moves on to the Absolute Power event. As Batman prepares to face off against Zur-En-Arrh, he also reveals a brand new Batsuit.

Batman has been chased out of Gotham City, the Bat-Family is divided, and Batman has lost access to the Batcave and all his major resources. It’s one of the worst times in his life, but with Tim Drake at his side, Bruce has begun planning a counter-attack against the monster who took his city from him.

Part of this includes Batman building a brand new Batsuit, which Jorge Jiménez has shown off on Twitter/X ahead of Batman #148’s release. This suit is a sleek new design, looking similar to the Arkham Knight suit, due to its obvious armored parts and cowl.

Batman’s New Suit Is Designed To Take His Latest Foe Down

Batman #148 by Chip Zdarsky and Jorge Jiménez

Comic book art: the dark robotic Batman known as Failsafe.

As Zur-En-Arrh unleashes his own twisted Batsuit, it’s up to Batman to try and keep pace and upgrade as well. While this has been made excessively difficult due to Bruce losing access to the Batcave and the majority of his wealth, he has still managed to do it. Thanks to a few safe houses he’s left around the outskirts of Gotham, Batman has managed to build a brand new Batsuit that will hopefully allow him to face off against Failsafe. In artist Jorge Jiménez’ own words, this new suit will allow the Dark Knight to “stand up to that b*stard and knock him down!”

Upgrading the Batsuit is always a classic element of a Batman story. While Batman isn’t as known for his Batsuits as much as Iron Man is for his suits, there have been plenty of times when Batman has needed a new suit for a powerful villain. Batman is known for his contingency plans, and it seems this new suit has been specifically designed as a Failsafe-killer. Failsafe has taken down the entire Bat-Family and Justice League, and now Batman will be coming for him with a suit specifically made to bring him down.

The New Batsuit Will Be Bruce’s Most Dangerous Yet

Batman has gone through many different outfits over the years, but this is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated. This is not just another look for a new era of Batman, but it’s a suit he’s specifically put together for a villain that has consistently defeated him for the past year. Failsafe has outplanned and out gunned Batman at every turn so far, but this new Batsuit will finally be Batman’s chance to turn the tide and take Failsafe down once and for all.
