Nosferatu star Bill Skarsgård shares a chilling preview of his character in the upcoming Robert Eggers’ film. Serving as a remake of the 1922 film of the same name, which is itself an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula novel, Nosferatu sees Skarsgård take on the role of the vampire Count Orlok. The film, which is Eggers’ latest after The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman, is expect to hit theaters later this year, but Skarsgård’s character has remained shrouded in mystery.

Now, in a recent interview with Esquire, Skarsgård shares a new tease about his vampiric character in Nosferatu. Check out his comments below:

“It took its toll. It was like conjuring pure evil. It took a while for me to shake off the demon that had been conjured inside of me. I do not think people are gonna recognize me in it. He’s gross. But it is very sexualized. It’s playing with a sexual fetish about the power of the monster and what that appeal has to you. Hopefully you’ll get a little bit attracted by it and disgusted by your attraction at the same time.”

More to come…
