A Dune cosplayer looks almost exactly like Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides in a detailed outfit inspired by the latest movie duology. Based on the 1965 Frank Herbert book of the same name, Dune tells the story of Paul after his House is destroyed by the Galactic Empire, wherein he embraces his role as a messiah figure to the people of Arrakis on a quest for revenge. The most recent entry in the series is the critically-praised Dune: Part Two, which adapted the second half of the original book.

Now, mistvein has taken to Instagram, showing off a cosplay that looks exactly like Chalamet’s version of Paul from the Dune movies.

The cosplayer wears a detailed stillsuit and wields a crysknife, both looking just as they appear in the movie. Mistvein’s hair and eyes are also reminiscent of Paul, showing just how much detail went into making this cosplay accurate to the movies.

How Timothée Chalamet Gives Paul An Iconic Look In Dune

The cast of Dune is extensive, with plenty of major Hollywood actors taking on major roles throughout both films. This includes Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Javier Bardem as Fremen leader Stilgar, Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Harkonnen, and Zendaya as Chani. However, Chalamet’s performance as Paul is a standout because of his character development across both movies. While he starts out as a young man unsure if he ever wants to be a leader, he soon becomes a serious figurehead whose leadership is motivated by vengeance.

This characterization is bolstered because of his iconic look, which shows him as both an outworlder and as someone willing to fight for Arrakis. While he wears a stillsuit developed on another planet, he also carries with him the crysknife given to him by Chani, something that acts as his symbolic anchor to the people of the planet. This outfit also highlights his role as the fabled Lisan al’Gaib, indicative of his ability to fulfill that role while maintaining ties to his past.

The outfit hints at Paul’s connection to the world of Arrakis and the world beyond it, something that will be further explored in the upcoming Dune: Part Three. As for mistvein’s cosplay, it’s clear plenty of detail went into capturing the character visually, exemplifying how his appearance helped his development in the movie. With even more of the Lisan al’Gaib expected on the big screen in the future, it seems this outfit will continue to exemplify his character traits moving forward.
