Warning! Spoilers ahead for Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #7!The MonsterVerse’s premier icon Godzilla gets an amazing upgrade that makes his ultimate attack even more devastating. In Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong, all hell is breaking out in a fight between heroes, villains, and Titans. But one assist from a surprising source gives the King of the Monster’s atomic breath a little extra punch.

In Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #7 by Brian Buccellato, Christian Duce, and Tom Derenick, Superman has recovered from Godzilla’s attack. After getting up to speed on the Titan situation, Superman heads to the bottom of the ocean and frees Godzilla, urging the monster to follow him.

The two arrive in Metropolis where the Justice League is trying to bring down a revived Skull Devil. Godzilla immediately tackles the Skull Devil and revs up his atomic breath as Superman prepares his heat vision. Godzilla and Superman unleash their beams in tandem before Kong comes in with a killing blow.

Godzilla’s Atomic Breath Gets an Assist from Superman’s Heat Vision

When Godzilla came to the DCU, he was not happy. He, like several of the MonsterVerse’s most iconic Titans, was taken from their home thanks to the Toyman’s use of the Dreamstone. Lost and confused, Godzilla made a beeline for the biggest threat it perceived in the world, Superman. The kaiju laid waste to Metropolis and Superman responded with a fight. Unfortunately, Shazam was there to lend a hand and he accidentally transformed back into Billy Batson. Superman was forced to protect the young man and took the full brunt of Godzilla’s atomic breath, leaving Superman in critical condition.

In one moment during Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #2, atomic breath and heat vision were used against one another and surprisingly, Godzilla and Superman’s powers were dead even with each other. In this instance though, both attacks are used together to make an even more impressive and devastating attack. Fans may remember in Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla’s atomic breath was strong enough to bore a hole straight through to the Hollow Earth. In the Skull Devil’s final moments, it got hit with a blast that was twice as effective, no doubt making for an excruciating end.

Superman Made Godzilla’s Best Attack More Powerful Than Ever

While Godzilla’s atomic breath is one of the strongest attacks in the MonsterVerse, this is the first time he’s ever had an ally that could bolster Godzilla’s signature attack. It could also be the last time given that Superman sends the kaiju back to the MonsterVerse when everything is said and done. But this is one of the few instances where Godzilla not only encountered someone outside of the MonsterVerse able to match his atomic breath’s strength but who could help him double his greatest attack’s strength.
