Doctor Doom becomes the main villain as he takes on several Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes in Avengers: Secret Wars art. As The Multiverse Saga is almost halfway through its run, the anticipation for the next Avengers movies is getting bigger. While Marvel Studios is retooling their plans for Avengers 5 (formerly known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty), there is a lot of hype for Avengers: Secret Wars, which is currently one of the MCU’s biggest mysterious projects.

As Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars cast are still in need of directors, it is not stopping the MCU audience from sharing their thoughts and hopes for the films. SpideyVegas recently shared new artwork for Avengers: Secret Wars, where Victor von Doom, a.k.a. Doctor Doom, gets imagined as the ultimate villain for the Phase 6 movie.

While no specific actor is pitched as Doctor Doom for the MCU, the villain has been previously featured in 20th Century Fox’s past Fantastic Four movies. As Doctor Doom is pitched as the new main foe in Avengers: Secret Wars, the poster features the following 20 MCU heroes:

Is Doctor Doom Actually Going To Be The Villain For Avengers: Secret Wars?

Ever since Jonathan Majors was fired by Marvel Studios, it has been unclear whether or not Kang the Conqueror will continue to serve as the main antagonist for The Multiverse Saga. While Marvel Studios is reportedly recasting the role, no one has so far replaced Majors, leaving many to wonder if the MCU is perhaps phasing Kang out from this arc and putting a different foe in his place in Avengers: Secret Wars. The popular choice that keeps coming up is Doctor Doom, even though there have been no signs to indicate that Victor is coming to the MCU anytime soon.

Given how there hasn’t been any setup for Doctor Doom, it would be an extremely sudden change for the MCU to have him lead The Multiverse Saga. While The Fantastic Four reboot is on its way, it doesn’t appear that Doctor Doom will be set up there, making it even less likely that Victor would somehow take over for Kang. At this point, it is more likely that a new actor will take over for Majors as Kang and finish out The Multiverse Saga, including in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Even if Doctor Doom doesn’t make it into The Multiverse Saga, he would be the ideal next big bad for the MCU. If it is true that Avengers: Secret Wars will be a soft reboot of the MCU, Doctor Doom could be the new major villain for the franchise starting in Phase 7, especially if the Fantastic Four is now set to be key players going forward. For now, time will tell if Doctor Doom is taking part in Avengers: Secret Wars or if fans will have to wait a little longer to see Victor brought into this universe.
