Warning! Contains spoilers for Venom: Separation Anxiety #1!

A massively underrated Marvel villain is using the Venom symbiote to become even more dangerous. While there have been a few Venom hosts over the years, the bond between Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote has always been the strongest. The two are a perfect match, which is why it’s so concerning that one major Marvel villain seems to be finally coming between the two.

In Venom: Separation Anxiety #1 by David Michelinie and Romulo Fajardo Jr, readers get to see the first time Eddie is in danger of losing the symbiote. After the Purple Man breaks out of prison, he encounters Venom and tries to order him to get out of his way. What happens next is something neither the Purple Man nor Venom would expect.

Purple Man tries to order Venom to leave. But instead of Venom simply walking away and leaving Purple Man alone, part of the Venom symbiote leaves Eddie, and attaches itself to Purple Man instead. While it’s only a small bit at first, it seems that Purple Man will want the entire Venom symbiote for himself, to transform into the King in Purple.

Venom’s Creator Brought Back His Surprisingly Unique Superpower

The Venom symbiote grants Eddie Brock a ton of unique and powerful abilities, but only Venom’s original creator could bring back a surprising power.

Purple Man’s First Contact With Venom Has Major Consequences

Kilgrave Sneaks Up On Venom

Zebediah Killgrave aka the Purple Man is able to command anyone to do anything he wants, making him one of Marvel’s most dangerous villains. His power is so great that Wilson Fisk famously took control of it to become mayor of New York City and nearly destroyed Daredevil. But since Purple Man is capable of commanding anyone to obey him, he rarely needs to get into fights on his own. This has been the one saving grace of his power. As long as someone is immune to Purple Man’s powers, then he’s really not much of a physical threat, but all of this would change if he got the Venom symbiote.

Venom Could Eliminate Killgrave’s Biggest Weakness

Kilgrave Is Locked Up And Powerless

The Venom symbiote is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe, as it vastly enhances the powers of anyone it merges with. Venom is so strong, that in one possible future, Venom takes over the entire world and becomes Venomworld. There’s absolutely no doubt that if the Purple Man gained the Venom symbiote, he’d be practically unstoppable. Not only would he have the physical power of Venom to fall back on, but he’d still have his mind control powers as well. Even more frightening, it appears that the Purple Man’s mind control powers work on symbiotes.

Killgrave orders Venom to leave, and to his shock, it does leave, but not how the Purple Man expects. Instead of simply walking out of the area, the Venom symbiote leaves Eddie and partly merges with Killgrave. This is a massive issue, and now Eddie Brock will have to deal with the symbiote slowly losing itself to Killgrave’s influence. While Eddie Brock has always been terrifying as Venom, and even became the King in Black, he’s nowhere near as scary as the Purple Man’s ultra-powerful new form, the King in Purple.

Venom

Venom is the name of an alien lifeform in the Marvel Comics canon that first premiered as a formless symbiote alien in “The Amazing Spider-Man” comic series. Initially a villain, Venom continued to bond with hosts such as Spider-Man and Eddie Brock, who affected his personality and eventually evolved into an antihero known as “The Lethal Protector.”
