John Krasinski’s latest movie, IF, just crossed a major domestic milestone, despite a weak Memorial Day weekend. The star-studded movie features Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski, Jon Stewart, Maya Rudolph, Steve Carell, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Awkwafina. Following the adventures of a young girl who can see everyone’s imaginary friends, the movie explores the reality of imaginary friends and the importance of clinging to the memories of them. While IF has received mixed reviews, it has still achieved an important financial milestone.
According to a report by Deadline, IF crossed the important $50 million mark at the domestic box office. With a total of $63.2 million in its second weekend, it earned a third place spot at the box office. With $20.7 million on the weekend, IF sits behind only Furiosa and Garfield, which each opened to over $30 million. It is, however, a slow weekend, as the entire box office is in the process of experiencing its lowest financial total in over 40 years.
