Sophie Wilde Likely Won’t Return

Months after the sequel was formally announced, the latest news suggests that original star Sophie Wilde won’t return in Talk to Me 2. Turning heads as the troubled protagonist, Mia, Wilde could have returned for the sequel considering her character’s fate. However, it has now been revealed that the in-demand Aussie actor is not currently signed on, and isn’t at liberty to discuss development on the sequel. She did, however, express her desire to be involved in some way, even jokingly offering to work as a boom operator on set.

The Sequel Was Announced In Late 2024

Talk to Me 2 was confirmed shortly after the theatrical release of Talk to Me. Danny and Michael Philippou said they have a giant “mythology Bible” about the hand and have enough for a trilogy. While there’s no release date for Talk to Me 2 yet, it is encouraging to know that A24 — a studio not known for its horror franchises — has enough faith in the project that they’ve already confirmed it.
