Evil star Katja Herbers teases how her character, Dr. Kristen Bouchard, will react to Leland’s plans to father a child with her missing egg. Serving as the final season for the hit supernatural drama, it was revealed that Paramount+ allowed series creators Robert and Michelle King four extra episodes to allow the show to properly wrap up its various plot threads. Central to season 4’s story will likely be the shocking revelation from the Evil season 3 finale that Leland had bought Kristen’s missing egg with the goal of bringing his own demonic child into the world.

Speaking with Screen Rant ahead of Evil’s season 4 release, Herbers has hinted at how her character will deal with learning about the child born from her egg. Suggesting that “the s–t never stops hitting the fan” for her often-beleaguered character, the actor revealed that Kristen will focus on trying to raise her daughters while trying not to think about this new child until she must. Check out her comments below:

Well, it seems like with Kristen, the s–t never stops hitting the fan. There’s so much that has happened to her, and just when you think it can’t possibly get any crazier — the missing egg was crazy enough, and has now been fertilized by the person who’s been out to kill her and her family the entire time. So yeah, a lot going on there, and how we will see her deal with that is trying to take care of her daughters in the best way she can, and trying to keep this other baby, let that be something that she doesn’t think about until she has to think about it.

The way the story is handled is never underwhelming and always surprising, proving Robert and Michelle King are still at the top of their game.

What Does Leland’s New Baby Mean For Kristen’s Third Daughter?

Lexis Has Been The Focus Of Leland’s Previous Plans

Since his introduction in season 1, Dr. Leland Townsend has been thoroughly obsessed with Kristen’s family, particularly her daughter Lexis. While this obsession would later be revealed as the result of plans to groom her as a potential successor to one of Evil’s demonic houses, Kristen has repeatedly attempted to thwart Leland’s malign intentions at every possible turn. However, with his child’s imminent arrival, the question is whether Leland is finally finished attempting to corrupt young Lexis.

According to the Kings, however, while Leland’s plans for his child with Kristen will usher in a new focus for the show’s primary antagonist, he has not quite finished with his plans for Lexis either. Describing her Evil season 4 role as a “John the Baptist” figure who paves the way for a later messianic successor, it is unlikely that Leland will abandon his attempts to exert his influence over Kristen’s third daughter. Moreover, the showrunners’ previous comments would also suggest that Lexis could potentially play a key role in raising her demonic half-sibling.

Exactly what the birth of Kristen and Leland’s child will have in store for the characters of Evil remains to be seen, but the promise of its arrival suggests the show’s final season will be the most thrilling yet. Even though Herbers suggests that Kristen will be trying to avoid thinking about the baby, Leland is certainly not likely to reciprocate and stop thinking about her character’s other children. Things will likely only get more dramatic as the series comes to a close.
