Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo will reunite with one of his MCU co-stars for a new action-thriller, Crime 101. Ruffalo made his debut as Bruce Banner in 2012’s The Avengers and went on to appear in a total of six MCU movies and two television shows, with his most recent appearance arriving in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Beyond Marvel, the Oscar-nominated actor has appeared in a number of notable titles, with the most recent being the critically-acclaimed Poor Things.

According to Deadline, Ruffalo will reunite with a former co-star in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios action-thriller Crime 101. Ruffalo will star alongside Chris Hemsworth, who is also in talks to produce alongside his producing partner Ben Grayson. Plot details are under wraps for now, but the story is believed to follow Detective Lou Lubesnick as he investigates a spate of jewel thefts along the Pacific Coast that could have links to Colombian cartels. Bart Layton will direct the movie, which is due for a 2025 theatrical release.

Will Crime 101 Continue Ruffalo’s Stellar Streak?

Crime 101 Could Be A Strong Title For Both Ruffalo And Hemsworth

Ruffalo is on a hot streak, coming off the back of his fourth Oscar nomination for Poor Things, and will be looking to add another acclaimed entry to his filmography. Crime 101 has some strong creative minds attached, and its gritty story could provide an excellent opportunity for Ruffalo to show off his dramatic acting skills. The actor has dabbled in both drama and comedy over the years, but three of his Oscar-nominated performances have been in dramas; Crime 101 could be an exciting new showcase for Ruffalo.

Both Ruffalo and Hemsworth have busy schedules over the coming year, with the former currently filming HBO’s Task and appearing in Bong Joon Ho’s upcoming Mickey 17 opposite The Batman star Robert Pattinson. Meanwhile, Hemsworth can be seen next in George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and is working on a third movie in his Netflix franchise Extraction, as well as contributing a voice role to the animated project Transformers One.

How successful Crime 101 might be remains to be seen, but with the star power of its two leads, there is every chance the movie will prove to be a box office hit. It could be another strong action entry for Hemsworth, while Ruffalo will no doubt hope to receive further critical acclaim. The movie also provides a great opportunity to build upon the chemistry they developed in Thor: Ragnarok. Though its awards prospects are currently unclear, it could become one of Ruffalo’s best movies and strongest performances, assuming the source material lives up to his and Hemsworth’s talent.
