With her slew of botanical powers, Poison Ivy is always a force to be reckoned with in DC Comics. A cosplay from @poison_bats is highlighting the iconic villainess’ further potential. Ivy’s attractive toxicity makes her a core member of Batman’s rogue gallery, but she could do so much more damage with additional plant-inspired attacks.

On Reddit, @nycosplayer shared their photo and edit of a Poison Ivy cosplay by @poison_bats. The cosplay features the DC villainess in a bodysuit covered in leaves with a brown bodice. Vines wrap around her arms along with some flowers and a dangerous, toothed plant.

The photo’s edit adds a new power to Poison Ivy’s arsenal, producing a Razor Leaf effect that turns several leaves into dagger-like projectiles in the air. While she hasn’t really been seen using this kind of attack within the comics, it would add a fun layer of extra danger to her present combat style.

Poison Ivy’s Deadly Attacks & Abilities Are Beyond Belief

Poison Ivy is most skilled at chemical warfare, particularly as it includes plants, pheromones, and toxins. She is known for her fatal kiss, poisonous touch, and plant-centric approach to villainy. Humans are the biggest threat to her and the plants she loves. Her superhuman abilities allow her to communicate with and manipulate plants, develop powerful toxins like her Lamia Spores, and have immunity to toxins. Poison Ivy’s attacks usually consist of kisses, vines, and limited martial arts combat. Since her plant control is often based on rooted plants and restraining her foes, she isn’t usually seen throwing plant materials toward her enemies.

However, like in the edit and cosplay by @nycosplayer and @poison_bat, Poison Ivy could be even more deadly were she to use other plant-based attacks. While she wouldn’t want to cause them any harm, being able to manipulate fallen or excess leaves could prove deadly. Like shuriken or daggers, sharp objects moving at fast enough speeds could take down several of her enemies, particularly when having to face large groups of people. Plants are living, but bits they lose could prove beneficial to Poison Ivy’s fighting prowess and open new attacks if she found an effective way to centralize her control on those aspects.

DC’s Poison Ivy Has The Potential To Be Stronger

With such strong abilities, which increase as her connection to the Green deepens, it’s no wonder Poison Ivy is one of Gotham’s best villains. Many times, her arguments are well-founded with the potential to be positively impactful, even if her unorthodox methods are absolutely criminal. Poison Ivy has recently been receiving incredible god-like upgrades that are increasing her damage potential. As this stunning cosplay from @nycosplayer and @poison_bat shows, Poison Ivy has even more potential that has yet to be tapped when it comes to the limits of her powers.

Inducted into Batman’s rogues gallery in the 1960s, Poison Ivy is a metahuman who terrorizes Gotham with her poisonous touch and control over plant life. A misanthropic eco-terrorist, Poison Ivy is also depicted as an anti-hero, using her powers in attempts to regrow the environment in the wake of pollution and deforestation.
