Sadly, the actor’s comments suggest that the odds of Tim and Lucy getting back together in the season 6 finale are slim to none. Winter teased:

“[The season 6 finale] leaves a nice sort of, I wouldn’t say closure or a guarantee of anything, but it leaves it in a place where there’s stuff to talk about.”

Winter’s quote about Chenford’s fate in the season 6 finale of The Rookie implies that the status of Tim and Lucy’s relationship will remain the same by the episode’s end. However, the actor’s comments also indicate that the two characters share a scene or two where they make some progress in their journey to reuniting as a couple.
