Crossover Fanart Proves Overwatch’s Soldier: 76 Needs A Cyclops Skin

Both making their debut as inaugural members of their respective rosters, Cyclops and the X-Men and Soldier: 76 and the rest of the Overwatch crew are all impressively designed characters to the point that fans can immediately recognize their iconic visual looks. No stranger to donning new and improved duds when the time calls for it, Cyclops’ choice in superhero spandex has a long history in Marvel Comics, with Soldier: 76 similarly having more than a few alternate and legendary skins to call his own, something BossLogic hones in on with this fanart.
Drawing the base form of Soldier: 76 against a smokey blue backdrop, BossLogic then adds all the visual trimmings of Scott Summers’ superhero alter ego to make this X-Men x Overwatch hybrid hero stand out. Taking away Soldier: 76’s rifle, “Cyclops: 76” instead repurposes Soldier: 76’s face visor/face mask combo, allowing Cyclops to channel his devastating optic blast through it. It remains to be seen if Marvel will ever allow Overwatch to use their characters’ likenesses for alternate skins but it stands to reason that other Overwatch characters would benefit from a Marvel-related makeover, opening the door to Reinhardt dressed as Spider-Man’s Rhino, Tracer looking like the speedster Quicksilver, or possibly even Reaper complete with a flaming skull courtesy of Ghost Rider.
