A new concept poster promoting Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine parodies DC Studios’ recent reveal of Clark Kent’s new superhero costume for 2025’s Superman. Deadpool & Wolverine is set to premiere on July 26, 2024, bringing Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine into the MCU proper in a highly-anticipated multiversal adventure. As the first live-action movie featuring Wade Wilson’s Deadpool since 2018’s Deadpool 2, Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine is expected to bring back Ryan Reynolds’ brilliant humor and wit, now with the freedom to poke more fun at the MCU, but Marvel Studios won’t be his only target.

While Deadpool will surely be making new jokes at Marvel Studios and Disney’s expense, DC Studios has also been a popular source of comedy for the merc-with-a-mouth. This has continued in a new fan-made concept poster for Deadpool & Wolverine shared by agtdesign, which depicts Deadpool sat on a chair in the style of DC Studios’ recent reveal of Superman’s new DCU costume.

The poster replaces the Superman costume reveal’s cosmic beam with the depiction of the multiverse cracking open, as previously seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Marvels, while Babypool, a Deadpool variant, also makes an appearance.

The official trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine has been released, providing plenty of exciting and hilarious reveals about the film’s story.

Deadpool Has Made Jokes At DC’s Expense Before & Likely Will Again

While this concept poster isn’t official, it stays within the realm of Deadpool’s previous jokes at DC’s expense. Most notably, 2018’s Deadpool 2 featured many references to the DC Extended Universe. When Wade Wilson returns home to Vanessa after his failed mission at the beginning of Deadpool 2, he suggests he was late because he was fighting a “caped badass,” but then discovered that “his mom is named Martha, too.” This referred to Batman and Superman’s battle in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which came to an end after the pair realized both their mothers were named Martha.

Deadpool 2 later saw Deadpool state, “I’m Batman,” when Cable questions who he is, before claiming Cable must come from the DC Universe because he is “so dark.” Deadpool and Weasel mention Superman when recruiting Shatterstar for the X-Force, during scenes that also put the Joker’s “BANG” flag from 1989’s Batman on display in the background. Perhaps most memorably, one of Deadpool 2’s post-credits scenes also featured Deadpool shooting Ryan Reynolds in the head shortly after the actor finished reading the screenplay for 2011’s reviled Green Lantern, so there has been no shortage of DC jokes in Deadpool’s live-action history.

Deadpool 2’s Best Jokes and One-Liners

Deadpool 2 is full of hilarious jokes, one-liners and sight gags. Here are our favorites – from the opening credits to the Basic Instinct moment.

Since Deadpool made so many DC jokes at a time when DC’s live-action projects were faring well, these jokes will surely increase in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine. Warner Bros.’ recent DC projects have failed to match the success of the likes of Wonder Woman and Aquaman, so failures such as Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will surely be the focus of several of Deadpool’s jokes. Initial trailers for the Phase 5 movie have proven that Deadpool will joke relentlessly about Disney in Deadpool & Wolverine, but DC Studios certainly isn’t safe either.
