With the return of the Gotham City Sirens this summer, the trio unveils new costumes, including a pink and blue ensemble for Harley Quinn that represents the ultimate high-fashion evolution of her original design. However, Harley’s transformation goes beyond clothing in this variant cover art; she also sports an ambitious haircut that is bound to divide fans.

On August 7, 2024, Harley Quinn will join forces with Catwoman and Poison Ivy in Leah Williams and Matteo Lolli’s Gotham City Sirens #1. This marks the beginning of a four-part mini-series where the Sirens embark on a western-themed adventure to combat animal cruelty.

W. Scott Forbes’ Variant Cover Transforms Harley Quinn Into Runway Model Ahead of Gotham City Sirens Series

VARIANT COVERS BY W. SCOTT FORBES Gotham City Sirens Harley Quinn Poison Ivy Catwoman Punchline

Forbes’s variant cover showcases Harley, alongside Poison Ivy, Catwoman, and Punchline, dressed in Met Gala-worthy attire. Harley’s ensemble captivates with its soft blues and pinks, accented by occasional dashes of white. She appears to be wearing a mini-dress, although this detail is somewhat obscured by her model-worthy pose. Her outfit is complemented by an oversized coat jacket, a white ruff collar, thigh-high boots, and gloves that extend past her elbows. However, what truly defines this outfit is its “cross-color” concept, where elements are split between pink and blue hues.

For instance, one of Harley’s gloves is pink while the other is blue, a pattern mirrored in her boots and other parts of the costume. She also adopts eye shadow and hair coloring that adhere to this cross-color pattern. However, the blue and pink makeup and hair dye are less noticable due to their faintness. Speaking of Harley’s hair, this marks a significant design departure as she ditches her usual flowing blond locks in favor of a bowl cut. Surprisingly, she pulls it off quite well, although this daring hairstyle choice is likely to divide fans.

Harley’s New Pink and Blue Outfit Is the High-Fashion Evolution of Her Classic Costume

Harley’s pink and blue ensemble represents the pinnacle of her original costume’s evolution, seamlessly blending elements of the past with a contemporary flair. Similar to Forbes’s rendition, the classic costume also embraced a cross-color pattern, albeit with black and red instead of blue and pink. Forbes’s choice of pink and blue mirrors more recent interpretations of the character, which typically features said colors in her makeup and hair. Additionally, the inclusion of the white ruff pays homage to the Siren’s original jester-inspired aesthetic. Thanks to Forbes’ high-fashion twist, this is one of Harley Quinn’s most bold costumes.
