Palworld has certainly never attempted to classify itself as a wholesome game, but the fact that players can capture humans in addition to the monster-like Pals takes things to another level. The survival and creature-collecting game Palworld has had massive overnight success since its launch into Early Access, and players are still slowly uncovering all the secrets the game holds. What was once dubbed “Pokémon with guns” has proven itself to be much more than that.
When a human is captured, the game will notify players that the action is inhumane on Palpagos Island, yet it is entirely possible. Humans are quite different from Pals, however, and as the main focus of the game is on Pals, humans are relatively useless once caught other than for selling for Gold or doing some Handiwork. The online community seems to be at odds regarding whether captured humans can do any skills other than Handiwork, yet, currently, it has not been proven that they can do any mining, crop maintenance, or any other chores around the base other than Handiwork.

7 Rename Them Like A New Pet
As If Capturing Them Wasn’t Degrading Enough
Capturing a human in Palworld follows the same method as capturing any of the Pals in the game. After finding the desired target, players have to enter into combat with them to lower their health and then throw a Pal Sphere at them to attempt to capture them. After bringing them to base and introducing them to their new home, humans can be renamed just like any other Pal, so a captured Syndicate Thug could have any name the player wants to give it. Humans will also need a Pal Bed and food just like other pals, although thankfully they are not able to breed.
6 Butcher Humans To Get Loot
Note That This Is Not Endorsed
As if catching humans wasn’t bad enough, the truly disturbing aspect of Palworld‘s human capture mechanic is that they are at risk of the dreaded Meat Cleaver. The weapon that is used to butcher Pals and get their loot drops and meat can, in fact, be used to butcher humans as well. Butchering humans will result in the regular loot that can be gained from killing them in the wild, such as Bread and Gold Coins. Something about it seems even more gruesome than shooting them, however.
5 Sell Humans For Gold
At Least It’s Better Than Butchering Them
Unfortunately, one of the biggest reasons that players have found to capture humans in Palworld is that they can be a good way of making quick money. Once caught, they can be sold to the Black Marketeer Vendor with no questions asked. Depending on the type of human that is being sold, they can be worth anywhere from 80 to 1200 Gold a piece. There may be a few raised eyebrows if the player attempts to sell a Black Marketeer Vendor on the Black Marketeer, yet even that seems to be allowed.

4 Force A Friendship
Pretend They Want To Be There
Humans can be assigned to the base in Palworld, and if not actively occupied with a job they will wander around like they want to be there, despite the obvious thought that they could make a run for it. This, combined with the ability to rename the human, can help make it seem a little less cruel by allowing players to imagine that they have become friends rather than that they beat the human down and shoved them into a Pal Sphere against their will.
3 Add Humans To The Hunting Party
Humans Are Not As Strong As Pals Though
When humans are captured in the Pal Sphere in Palworld, they lose their weapons and the ability to be given new ones. This leaves them in a much weaker state than when they were on their own, and their only combat skill is a Punch. In the Paldex, it states that “Humans are not Pals, therefore they do not possess Partner Skills.” Humans can join a party on an adventure, but their usefulness is quite a bit less than any Pal would be in the same spot.

2 Humans Can Craft Items Like Pal Spheres
They Generally Have The Handiwork Skill
The only Work Suitability that humans come equipped with is that of Handiwork, but having this skill does make them useful in crafting. Assigning a human to a workbench at the players’ base in Palworld can be a perfect place for them to show off their skills. Humans can then work on crafting useful items such as other Pal Spheres, allowing the player to then go out and catch more.

1 Captured Merchants Can Be Assigned To A Base So Players Can Trade And Sell Items
Capturing Merchant NPCs Is Not Recommended For Public Servers
The best possible reason to catch a human in Palworld is that it is the only way to have a merchant permanently stationed in the player’s base. After catching one of the merchants in the game and assigning them to the base, players can speak to the enslaved merchant to trade and sell items to them. It is recommended that players not do this on public servers, however, as there have been numerous reported cases in Palworld of NPCs never respawning, and therefore, the merchant is unavailable to anyone else on the server. On dedicated, private servers, these merchant NPCs will presumably respawn after a server reboot; however, this is not a guarantee.
