6 Popular Teen Titans Casting Choices Come To Life In DC Universe Art

New fan art imagines the perfect casting choices for several members of the titular team of the upcoming Teen Titans movie in the rebooted DC Universe. Filmmaker James Gunn and producer Peter Safran, co-CEOs of DC Studios, announced their plans for a reboot of DC’s live-action superhero franchise in January 2023, unveiling ten new projects, including Superman, The Brave and the Bold, Paradise Lost, Lanterns and Booster Gold, among others. These projects are expected to revitalize DC’s live-action stories, following several disappointing installments in the now-concluded DC Extended Universe, and production is already well underway on several exciting new adventures.

In March 2024, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that, along with the ten previously-revealed projects, DC Studios is also developing a new Teen Titans movie for the DC Universe. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow writer Ana Noguiera is penning the script for Teen Titans, though not much is yet known about the upcoming project. Nevertheless, rumors have been rife about who will be cast as the titular Teen Titans team, and six casting choices have been imagined in fan art shared by 70.6ix, placing Wolfgang Novogratz, Daniel Ezra, Sadie Sink, Jack Grazer, Jenna Ortega and Xolo Maridueña in Teen Titans’ main roles.

Casting The Teen Titans: 10 Actors Perfect For The DCU Movie

James Gunn’s DC Universe is developing a Teen Titans movie, and some actors would be perfect as popular members of the young superhero team.

Why The DCU’s Teen Titans Debut Is So Exciting

DC Comics’ Teen Titans made their first appearance back in 1964’s The Brave and the Bold #54, and included younger counterparts and former sidekicks to some of DC’s most iconic superheroes. The team’s inclusion in the live-action DC Universe hints at some of these notable heroes also appearing in the franchise, despite many of them not yet being confirmed. Dick Grayson’s Robin leads the team in DC Comics, after working alongside Bruce Wayne’s Batman for several years, while he is joined by the likes of Aqualad, Kid Flash and Wonder Girl, all representing the adult members of the Justice League.

10 Lessons The DCU Teen Titans Movie Needs To Learn From The Animated Series

DC just announced that the DCU reboot’s slate will include a Teen Titans movie, which should take inspiration from the popular Teen Titans show.

Barry Allen’s Flash, Arthur Curry’s Aquaman, and Diana Prince’s Wonder Woman haven’t yet been confirmed to be appearing in the new DC Universe, but the potential debut of their younger counterparts in Teen Titans means these signature heroes could also appear. The Teen Titans have been a popular fixture in DC’s animated stories for decades, and made their live-action debut in HBO Max’s Titans series, which ran for four seasons between 2018 and 2023. Their popularity makes them a brilliant addition to the DC Universe, especially since Teen Titans will presumably mark the first team-up movie in the new franchise.

The fact that Ana Noguiera has been hired to pen the script for Teen Titans spells good news not only for this upcoming project, but also for others, as she is also working on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow for the DCU. There is a lot of trust in Noguiera’s writing, so Teen Titans is expected to be a strong installment in the DC Universe. This project could open the door for heroes such as Aquaman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg to be reinvented in the rebooted franchise, though only time will tell what the team’s actual line-up will be.
