6 MCU Movies & TV Shows Jessica Jones Could Return In

If Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe during its Multiverse Saga, here are six movies and TV shows she could return in. The MCU’s Multiverse Saga is bringing back characters from past Marvel projects, among them Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil. His return raised questions about whether other characters from Netflix’s Marvel shows, like Jessica Jones, will also officially become part of the MCU, and after a couple of teases from Ritter herself, speculation about her return in upcoming MCU projects has grown.

Jessica Jones is a former superhero turned private investigator running her own detective agency, Alias Investigations. In addition to helping others, Jessica Jones also saw the title character dealing with villains Kilgrave (David Tennant) and Gregory Sallinger (Jeremy Bobb), as well as her friend and adoptive sister Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), who turned into a dangerous vigilante. Jessica Jones season 3 left the door open for her return at some point, and with the MCU expanding even more during the Multiverse Saga, it’s the perfect chance to have her join Matt Murdock and Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) as some of the characters from Netflix’s Marvel shows that are now part of the MCU – but where could Jessica Jones return?

1 Secret Invasion

6 MCU Movies & TV Shows Jessica Jones Could Return In

Secret Invasion is a TV Series based on the comic book storyline of the same name. Secret Invasion will see the return of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) after Fury was seen traveling through space at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, and they will discover that the Skrulls have infiltrated all aspects of life on Earth. Secret Invasion is also bringing Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) back, Fury’s ally and leader of a Skrull sect, as well as Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), and Rhodey (Don Cheadle), all of which will help Fury and Hill deal with the Skrull invasion.

Secret Invasion might seem to have nothing to do with Jessica Jones, but there might have been a tease of the Skrull’s invasion in Jessica Jones season 2. In the first episode of the season, Jessica is listening to the stories of potential clients, and one of those asks for her help as there are “lizards wearing human skins and taking over the government”, with Jessica not hiding her disbelief and discomfort. Although back then it was understood that the woman was talking about reptilians, it fits the MCU’s timeline that Skrulls were already among humans on Earth, as they arrived in the 1990s as seen in Captain Marvel.

2 Echo

Echo is a Hawkeye spinoff TV series focusing on the character of Maya Lopez a.k.a. Echo (Alaqua Cox). After serving as an antagonist in Hawkeye, where she was the leader of the Tracksuit Mafia and was going after Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), Echo is coming back to lead her own TV series, set after the events of Hawkeye. Echo returns to her hometown in Oklahoma, where she’s forced to confront her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community. Echo will also see D’Onofrio reprising his role as Kingpin after it was revealed in Hawkeye that he’s not only Echo’s adoptive uncle but also the one who planned her father’s murder. Kingpin’s presence can be used as a link to bring Jessica Jones to the MCU, as he continues expanding his underground empire and Daredevil might need some extra help to bring him down. Echo will reportedly feature a subplot where Daredevil will be looking for a former ally, which some outlets reported to be none other than Jessica Jones.

3 Daredevil: Born Again

After his surprise return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his guest appearance in the TV series She-Hulk, Matt Murdock is coming back with a new TV series, appropriately titled Daredevil: Born Again. This new series is being described as a brand-new show and not a fourth season of the Netflix TV series, so plot details remain unknown. However, Jessica Jones and Daredevil have worked together before (in the Netflix series The Defenders), and both being a vigilante type, Daredevil: Born Again could see the return of Jessica Jones, joining forces again with Daredevil to solve a new mystery in New York City and stop a couple of bad guys, among them Kingpin.

4 Spider-Man 4

Tom Holland as Peter Parker in Spider-Man No Way Home

Just like Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones could skip the MCU’s TV series and make her big return on the big screen, and the best option is Spider-Man 4. Although it doesn’t have a release date yet nor a confirmed place in Phase 6, Spider-Man 4 is confirmed to happen. After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) was left all alone and starting over from scratch as the final spell cast by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) made the world forget about him. Because of this, Spider-Man 4 will see the web-slinger now as a street-level hero, which makes it possible for characters like Daredevil and Jessica Jones to join him. With no one remembering him, Peter might need some extra help in whatever issue he will be involved in, and Jessica Jones’ detective skills and superpowers might come in handy for Spider-Man.

5 Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

If Jessica Jones needs more time to join the MCU, she could join the rest of this universe’s heroes in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Following the steps of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars will be a crossover event, bringing together all the currently active superheroes in the MCU to fight Kang the Conqueror’s (Jonathan Majors) variants, and they will need all the help they can get. With this being a multiversal adventure and dealing with lots of fantasy elements, it’s hard to say what Jessica Jones’ role could be or how she could be introduced, but her superpowers can surely be very useful.

6 Avengers: Secret Wars

Avengers Secret Wars She-Hulk

The events of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will lead into those of Avengers: Secret Wars, which judging by the title, will see incursions and more taking place, thus putting the whole multiverse in danger. With universes collapsing and crashing, Jessica Jones could find herself in the MCU, possibly joining forces with her old teammate, Daredevil. Just like with The Kang Dynasty, it’s unknown what Jessica Jones‘ exact role in Secret Wars could be and how she would deal with the fantasy and multiversal elements of the story, as it would be completely new territory for her.
