6 Fallout Monsters We Can’t Wait To See In Live Action

6 Fallout Monsters We Can’t Wait To See In Live Action

Prime Video’s live-action Fallout adaptation should include some amazing creatures from the video games, including six highly anticipated monsters. Fallout is based on the iconic video game series of the same name, and though Prime Video’s adaptation will be using a completely original story, the video games’ world will be on full display in the show. Fallout‘s release is highly anticipated, partly due to the incredible cast the show has put together.

Fallout‘s timeline is also an important part of the current buzz around the show because it means fans of the games will be getting an all-new story. This draws the focus away from Fallout‘s narrative, placing it instead on the show’s ability to accurately recreate the world. To satisfy fans, Fallout will need to put a lot of detail into its worldbuilding, including six iconic monsters that need to make an appearance in the show.

Mole Rat — Mutated Rodent

Found roaming Fallout’s world in small packs

Mole rats snarling in Fallout.

Mole rats are massive rodents found in Fallout‘s world, known for their sharp claws and giant tusks. These creatures often travel in small packs, and they’re sure to be terrifying in the show’s live-action format. Though changes to Amazon’s Fallout show are inevitable, mole rats are a uniquely terrifying creature that can perfectly display the mutated state of Fallout‘s wildlife, so they can safely be expected to make an appearance when the show finally comes out.

Further, mole rats are easy to include because they could be used as an early trial by fire for the show’s main character, Lucy. Even if they don’t show up early though, it’s easy to insert the mole rats into pretty much any situation in Fallout. However they end up appearing, expect a ferocious fight when these harrowing rodents make their debut in Prime Video’s Fallout TV series.

Super Mutant — Humanoid

The strongest form of mutated humans

For Fallout to nail what fans love about the games, it will definitely need to give a hefty role to super mutants. Super mutants were created by the Forced Evolutionary Virus II, which turned them into the strongest form of mutant in Fallout‘s expansive world. Super mutants have an olive shade of skin and massive, bulging muscles, often complimented by large warts or skin deformities caused by their extended exposure to the virus.

Super mutants should be a scary sight in Fallout‘s live-action format, and their physical abilities will add considerably to the show’s spectacle. They will make a formidable foe for Lucy if she faces one down, and could be one of the most dangerous creatures in the show’s first season. Super mutants also play an important role in Fallout‘s lore, and exploring their creation could be a vital pillar of the show’s worldbuilding, especially if they are included early.

Deathclaw — Bipedal Reptile

Genetically engineered creatures of war

A Deathclaw roaring at the player in Fallout 4

Deathclaws are enormous reptilian creatures created by the United States government to replace humans on the battlefield. In the aftermath of Fallout‘s Great War, they began to colonize the country, easily slotting into the role of apex predator in the continent’s ecosystem. These terrifying creatures are the size of three men and equipped with all sorts of natural weapons and defenses, including claws, razor-sharp teeth, large tusks, and a thick, scaley hide.

Deathclaws are one of the most terrifying creatures in Fallout‘s world, so it’s likely they will be part of the show’s first season. Considering how strong they are, Fallout will likely opt to introduce some less dangerous creatures before working its way up to deathclaws. These horrifying dinosaur-like creatures could also work perfectly as a climactic final challenge for Lucy to face near the end of the show’s first season, allowing it to end on a memorable note.

3
Ghoul — Humanoid

Created by extended exposure to radiation

Ghouls are creatures in Fallout‘s world that were exposed to radiation — a process known as ghoulification in Fallout — turning them into twisted creatures that look a lot like zombies. Though they may look like zombies, ghouls are perfectly alive, and actually gain a significantly extended lifespan through the ghoulification process. However, many ghouls lose their minds along the way, and their skin, muscles, and ligaments are severely hindered by the radiation.

Ghouls will be an interesting aspect of Fallout, and they could provide a fresh take on the well-worn zombie trope. The ghouls who manage to retain their humanity can show how different these creatures are from zombies, while their appearance can maintain the harrowing imagery that made zombies popular. Fallout seems to be taking that approach to heart, as one of the show’s main characters is simply known as The Ghoul, guaranteeing the appearance of ghouls in the show.

2
Radscorpion — Arachnid

Radioactively mutated scorpions

Radscorpions are one of the most common creatures found in Fallout‘s world, so the show would do well to include them as a boon to fans, even if they don’t play a major role. It’s important for Fallout to recreate the feel of the video games, and including minor creatures that always pop up, like radscorpions, is a great way of doing that. These massive scorpions are far from the most dangerous creatures in Fallout, but that doesn’t mean they are safe to cuddle with.

Their venomous stingers and deadly pincers make them extremely deadly and give them a fearsome appearance that would fit nicely into the Fallout live-action TV show. They would also be easy to squeeze into the show because they are found so commonly in Fallout‘s world. Given their impressive appearance and relative lack of narrative importance, the radscorpions should be used as an early form of worldbuilding in Prime Video’s Fallout adaptation.

1
Floater — Mysterious Invertebrate

Named for the sacks of gas in its head that allow it to float above the ground

A floater floating in Fallout 76.

Floaters are one of the most unique and fascinating creatures in Fallout‘s world, and their fame within the game franchise makes it likely they will appear in Prime Video’s live-action adaptation. These deadly creatures have sacks of gas in their heads that cause them to float above the ground, hence their name. They have large mouths full of sharp teeth and a tentacular tongue that shoots out of the mouth and latches onto its target.

Floaters’ tentacles also have a second mouth at their ends, which sends food back into the larger, primary mouth. Floaters could be the scariest creatures in Prime Video’s Fallout adaptation because there is no real-world comparison to make to them. They are floating sacks of death that would scare even the toughest person, and they should be used accordingly by the show. If Fallout plans to bank on the horror element of the games, floaters are the perfect creatures to include.
