They are of course, eventually reunited, but at the beginning of the film, the cruel Beast initially holds Belle’s father Maurice hostage, but allows Belle to take her father’s place as his prisoner when she comes to rescue him, dividing their happy, small family.
Love: Enchanted
Capricorns will be able to relate to Patrick Dempsey’s character Robert in this Disney musical. Robert is a single father preparing to propose to his girlfriend Nancy, and hoping to give his daughter a new mother.
Robert is a divorce attorney and cynical when it comes to love, but all of that changes when Giselle falls into his life. Capricorns will also love the happy endings that everyone gets in this romantic musical comedy.
Hate: Into The Woods
Most people born under the Capricorn sign won’t find Stephen Sondheim’s musical turned feature film Into the Woods very entertaining or relatable.
This fairy tale story may be a little too magical for Capricorns to get into, and the way families are separated and struggling will be hard for any Capricorn to watch. This film also takes traditional fairy tales and gives them a twist, but Capricorns would much rather stick to the original stories.
Love: The Greatest Showman
Hugh Jackman’s character of P.T. Barnum in this epic musical feature film, The Greatest Showman, is one of the hardest working characters in show business, and that’s something any Capricorn can appreciate and be inspired by.
Capricorns may not understand or be able to appreciate the nature of Barnum’s work because this character goes against traditional values, but they can certainly understand his deep desire to provide an extraordinary life for his family.
Hate: Mamma Mia
Capricorns will most likely find this jukebox musical movie confusing. In the film, Sophie, played by Amanda Seyfried, is about to be marries and desperately wants her father to walk her down the aisle.
The problem is, Sophie doesn’t know who her father is, so she sets out on a mission to figure it out by her wedding day. The biggest problem Capricorns will have is the way Sophie goes behind her mother’s back in search of her biological father and all the secrets Sophie’s mother keeps from her.
Love: Frozen
The core theme of this Disney hit feature film is family. What makes this film so unique and special is that it doesn’t end happily ever after with a girl finding her Prince Charming. It ends with two sisters finding their way back to one another and having a better and stronger relationship.
Capricorns will love the family themes throughout this musical feature film, and the way Disney steers away from its cliche and outdated storytelling formulas.
Hate: Pitch Perfect
The Pitch Perfect film franchise may embody everything a Capricorn doesn’t like when sitting down to watch a movie.
The music is fun and catchy, but it takes well known hits and twists them into something new, and Capricorns won’t appreciate the way the musical arrangements stray from their more traditional numbers. Capricorns will also struggle with the leadership roles in this film and the way they are vilified.
Love: Mary Poppins
Mary Poppins is a classic, and for that reason alone Capricorns will love and appreciate this family friendly feature film.
The music is nostalgic, and the story is all about family and love and unity. Capricorns will also love making this film part of their own family tradition and creating memories around sitting down as family to watch it with the people they love the most.
Hate: Moulin Rouge
Baz Luhrmann’s jukebox musical love story Moulin Rouge is very inventive, and at the time of its release, there had never been anything like it on screen, which is the main reason Capricorns probably won’t enjoy this film.
This film really strays away from any kind of traditional story telling, especially for musicals, which may not sit well with most Capricorns. It also has many themes and elements that are less-than family friendly, which adds to the reasons it shouldn’t be on a Capricorn’s watch list.
