5 Horror Movies Leo Will Love (& 5 They Will Hate)

5 Horror Movies Leo Will Love (& 5 They Will Hate)

The horror movie genre couldn’t be better suited to the Leo sign, who think they’re starring in their own film every day of their life. They would love to be the protagonist who successfully outruns the killer or figures out the supernatural puzzle at the core of the story.

From classic terrifying tales to films released just last year, there are a lot of horror movies that would absorb a Leo, while others make them regret pressing play. Read on to find out five horror movies that this zodiac sign will love and five that they’re going to hate.

Love: Black Christmas (2019)

5 Horror Movies Leo Will Love (& 5 They Will Hate)

For a horror movie to appeal to a Leo, it has to be one about characters who fight for their lives, want to defeat a monster, and don’t just accept the scary situation that they’ve found themselves in. So, the 2019 remake of Black Christmas is perfect.

In this movie, Riley (Imogen Poots) and her pals take on the challenge of saving themselves from a killer on campus around the holidays. Leos would totally do the same thing as they would never imagine that they couldn’t win in this scenario.

Hate: Prom Night (2008)

The 2008 remake of the 1980 film Prom Night will be one that Leos really hate. The characters are very weak and wishy-washy, especially Britanny Snow’s protagonist, Donna. Her family was brutally murdered, while she hid under a bed and was spared, but it doesn’t really seem like she was super brave or that she did anything special in order to survive. Instead, she got lucky and just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Leos won’t like watching a group of teens who realize that there’s a killer targeting them on their prom night. It’ll feel like they’re simply sitting ducks.

Love: Countdown (2019)

Elizabeth Lail In Countdown

Leo signs will love 2019’s Countdown. Yes, the premise is incredibly corny: a nurse named Quinn, played by Elizabeth Lail of YOU fame, finds an app that tells the user their date of death.

But the film is really about a character who fights back against fate (or tries to). That will appeal to Leo signs, who have a lot of stubbornness and who can’t imagine being wrong.

Hate: Delirium (2018)

Delirium stars Topher Grace as a guy who moves back into his childhood home after leaving a psychiatric hospital. Is the house full of ghosts… or is he making everything up?

It’s not a question that Leo signs will be all that interested in answering. They will find the setting super boring since it all takes place in the same house, without compelling characters to boot.

Love: House On Haunted Hill (1999)

In the 1999 horror movie House On Haunted Hill, people are invited to a party. They think it’s weird because they have no idea where they’re going or why, and when they arrive at a mansion, they soon learn that it’s a sick game: they will be given $1 million if they survive one night here.

Leos will love this movie because the characters are fighting back against evil and trying to beat death. Since many are victorious, the happy ending will appeal to this zodiac sign, who love standing up for themselves.

Hate: Unfriended (2014)

Unfriended and Unfriended 2 Dark Web

Many people loved Unfriended, which is about a group of friends who video chat and realize that an evil spirit is playing games with them. But Leo signs would really hate this movie.

Since Leos are stubborn, they would most likely wouldn’t believe that this movie could really happen (which, of course, it couldn’t). And even if a friend told them that this was a good movie that they should watch, the fire sign would still watch it with a bad attitude and say that it wasn’t very good.

Love: The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015)

Leos are confident and also have a lot of creativity, so for a horror movie to appeal to them, it has to be pretty artistic. The Blackcoat’s Daughter definitely fits that description.

Set at a boarding school in the wintertime, the film follows Kat (Kiernan Shipka) and Joan (Emma Roberts) and plays with the concept of time, which makes it a really good watch. It’s also scary enough to keep Leos interested, as they get bored pretty easily.

Hate: Cherry Falls (2000)

Brittany Murphy Cherry Falls

Starring Britanny Murphy, Cherry Falls came out in 2000 and is about a killer who is going after the virgins in town. It’s pretty cheesy and feels very low-budget, and Leos will hate it because the main character, Jody, seems very weak and like she can’t protect herself.

None of the characters are developed well and none of them are very brave, either. For Leos, that’s a hard pass.

Love: Trick ‘r Treat (2008)

Leos won’t watch just any old horror movie. and 2008’s Trick ‘r Treat is a real treat (sorry) for horror fans or even people who don’t watch much of this genre.

This anthology movie is very creative and nothing is what it seems, so Leos will love the surprises. Leos like being kept on their toes since they want life to be an adventure.

Hate: When A Stranger Calls (2006)

Jill talking on the phone in When A Stranger Calls

The 2006 remake of the 1979 movie When A Stranger Calls is truly dull, with Camilla Belle playing a teenage girl named Jill who babysits for kids in a super fancy house. At first everything seems great: a night on her own in a huge mansion. But then Jill keeps getting scary and creepy phone calls.

Well, nothing much else happens, and it’s the horror movie equivalent of watching paint dry. Leos will want to turn it off immediately and won’t understand why Jill can’t stand up to the killer and take care of herself.
