Films such as 12 Years a Slave, Dallas Buyers Club, and Gravity were recognized at last year’s Golden Globes ceremony before they won big at the 2014 Academy Awards. Meanwhile, on the television side, it came as no surprise when Breaking Bad and its acclaimed star, Bryan Cranston, walked away with the top prizes for the celebrated crime/drama’s final season.

There’s been plenty in the way of great film and television produced over the 12-odd months since then too, which should make it all the more interesting to see what ends up walking away with the big awards at the 72nd Annual Golden Globes Ceremony in 2015. The popular duo of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are returning for their third stint as Golden Globes ceremony hosts this year, when the show takes place exactly one month from the nominees being announced today.

Such films as Richard Linklater’s 12 years in the making drama, Boyhood, and Ava DuVernay’s upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. biopic, Selma, are among the titles that have been gaining momentum in the early stages of awards season, picking up endorsements from various film critic circles and organizations. Meanwhile, it ought to be another fruitful year for HBO, between ongoing celebrated original series (Girls, Game of Thrones) and recent acclaimed TV movies (The Normal Heart) and mini-series (Olive Kitteridge) alike.

Here are the Hollywood Foreign Press’ nominees for the 2015 Golden Globes show.
