D-Day, the moon landing, Jesus’ birth, Taco Bell’s unveiling of the Chalupa, Blue Ivy– there have been a lot of momentous moments since the dawn of time, but few have had a greater impact than the relationship of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Stewart First Caught Pattinson’s Eye Long Before They Met
Before they became “official” or even ever met, Kristen Stewart had caught Robert’s eye after appearing in 2007’s Into the Wild, co-starring Emile Hirsch and directed by Sean Penn.
In fact, Pattinson said the only reason he even auditioned for Twilight was because he wanted to meet Kristen after watching her in that movie, in which she played a young, attractive underage desert hobo.
“I read the script of Twilight and I barely knew that they were books too so I had no idea what I was letting myself in for. The only reason I went to the audition was to see Kristen because I had just seen Into the Wild. Of course I had a little crush on her,” he said.

Over 5,000 actors auditioned for the role of the mopey vampire Edward Cullen, including reportedly Dave Franco, Jackson Rathbone, The Punisher’s Ben Barnes, and everyone’s favorite British magician, Dynamo.
When Twilight’s director Christina Hardwicke had the list finally narrowed down to four, she flew the remaining actors in for a “chemistry test” alongside Stewart, who had already been cast.
So they jumped on Hardwicke’s own bed and acted out the “Meadow Scene” from the first movie (you know, the one where Bella and Edward have an epic staring contest amidst a poorly manicured field and you can literally see the two actors trying to figure out what the heck they just got themselves into).

He Proposed Almost Immediately

The cast and crew were back in town to start filming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. A few months prior it made international headlines that Kristen and poor Michael Angarano had split.
Ever since rumors had been circulating about the two co-stars finally hooking up, but those came to an epic head when photographs of Rob and Kristen emerged online of the couple all up in each other’s Volturi, not to mention kissing.

Stewart Later Admitted the Relationship Made Her Feel “Gross”

Well, for Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey, everything went wrong– especially when he considered the lifespan of the average Hollywood romance is roughly 10 minutes.
In an interview with Time he revealed: “The thing that I think about is, ‘Oh my God, I hope they stay together.’

Snow White Caused Their Relationship To End
Surely by now everyone knows Robsten tragically ended because K-Stew (age 22) was caught making out with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders (age 41).
However, not everyone might know exactly how the Twipocalypse came about.

In Hollywood, if you walk within a 1-mile radius of someone you’ll be assumed to be getting together with them, so these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
However, Robert was accused of being unfaithful to Kristen, allegedly getting with Megan Fox, Lindsay Lohan, a VH1 Reality Star, Ashely Greene, a random blogger, Camilla Belle, and Emilie de Ravin (at the same time), Nikki Reed, a Russian model, and dancer.
Also, Pattinson apparently made a late night call to a pastry chef effusing over how beautiful her “cupcakes” were.

Katy Perry Was Accused of Playing a Role in Their Break-Up
Forget all the damning photos of Kristen macking it with her married Snow White director, the real reason Robsten ended was because of Katy Perry. Or at least she played a part if we’re to believe an insider report (though report may be a bit too strong of a word here).
A source told E! News that apparently Katy, “played a role, as one of the many reasons” in the couple’s breakup.
Perry and Pattinson had long been known to be friends, with the singer even once texting Stewart to assure her that there was nothing going on between the two.
She allegedly typed that “I would never disrespect you.”

They Were Tried To Keep Their Relationship Private
Despite the infidelity and media wildstorm, it appeared in the months following that Stewart and Pattinson made a go at reconciling.
Maybe it was because they thought they had something together, maybe it was because The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 had yet to come out. Who can say?

Being such a private pair, it was hard to get any facts straight about what exactly Pattinson and Stewart were up to.
So who knows what happened following her extra curricular dalliance, yet it was a promising sign for Team Robsten when a little while after US Weekly reported that they were once again living under the same roof.
The house in question was actually one which Robert had bought in 2011 from legendary NBA great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and which he (Robert, not Kareem) shared with Kristen.

Stewart Received a Lot of Hate from Twilight Fans
What social media giveth, social media just as quickly taketh away.
When Pattinson and Stewart’s relationship ended due to her epic car make out session and hike, Stewart caught the brunt of quite a bit of hate from Twilight fans online.
Kristen’s response? “I don’t view the whole Twilight blow-up as being generally traumatic. It would take someone with a really unhealthy amount of ego to be upset that everyone doesn’t love them. It would be silly to say I don’t care what people think of my work and who I am, but stuff is polarizing, period.”
According to an interview with The Sunday Times, K-Stew learned to move on and accept what some people she had never met on the Internet thought about her and her infidelity.

Even after the final Twilight came out Kristen and Robert were spotted together on several occasions seemingly not wanting to jharm each other so things were looking good for Twi-Nation.

Apparently, Kristen threw Robert a birthday party that he never showed for. They fought, and a source told the intrepid US Weekly that during the argument “all this stuff came up,” including Robert raving “about the cheating, about how selfish she is, about how moody she always is.”
In Stewart’s defense, being moody is kind of her thing.

If there’s one thing that Kristen Stewart made very clear during her time with R-Pattz, it was that she doesn’t talk about her private life.
However, then she did a monologue on SNL and came out as gay– or bi. She opened up, but why?
In an interview with The Guardian, Stewart spoke candidly about what she finally decided to open up about her orientation.
“When I was dating Rob, the public were the enemy – and that is no way to live. It wasn’t this grand statement, ‘I was so confused! Now I’ve realised who I am!’ I have not been struggling. It just seemed important, and topical,” she said.
Admirably, she added that “it was an opportunity to surrender a bit of what was mine, to make even one other person feel good about themselves.”
In other words, Robsten puts everything in perspective.
Pattisnon Moved On By Getting Engaged to FKA Twigs
Less than a year after driving away from Robsten forever, Pattinson was photographed hanging out with FKA Twigs.
Obviously, rumors began to swirl immediately, which were for all intents and purposes confirmed a few months later when Rob showed up at the singer’s first sold-out concert with a bouquet of roses.
In true Pattinson form, the ensuing relationship was kept very private.
That was until rapper T-Pain let loose in a 2015 interview with Vulture that the couple was engaged.
As they began to finally loosen up about their relationship, they even went so far as to openly talk about their plans for having children together.

After moving on from whatever the heck Robsten was, Robert Pattinson getting engaged (and splitting) with moody songstress FKA Twigs, and Kristen Stewart turning “so gay” and actually starring in a few really good movies, the pair have apparently let bygones be bygones.
In February 11, 2018 they were spotted together getting drinks together on Silverlake’s Edendale Bar in Los Angeles.
Despite Kristen being in a relationship with girlfriend Stella Maxwell, the sighting was enough to drive some fans longing for the Robsten days of old on Twitter in a fury.
Though admittedly it did seem like a good sign in the wake of the July 2017 incident when all three (Rob, Kristen, and Stella) ended up on the same overseas flight, which must have been awkward to say the least.
They Might Appear in Another Movie Together
So what now for this indelible pair who rocked the world with their torrid romance of roughly 2-3 years?
Well according to a source at Ok! Magazine, they’ve been approached to do another movie together, of which “Kristen is more hesitant than Rob right now, but they’ve agreed to discuss it.”
This sounds promising to us, though it is a little suspicious just how much about these two has come from “sources close to them.”
Either they should get new friends, or we are wondering whether any of this actually happened. One thing is for sure, though: we certainly hope both Stewart and Pattinson find happiness sometime in the near future and learn to accept their past, no matter how turbulent it was.
