Josh Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting has found himself in hot water once more. The reality star is no stranger to controversy and is now in even more trouble with his family turning on him. Now the charges against Duggar are being explained.
Duggar was featured with the rest of his large family on their reality show until 2015. During this time, the TLC show was canceled due to allegations against Duggar, which included molesting five girls when he was a teenager; two of his victims turned out to be his sisters. After his stint on the show, he went into conservative politics but was once again found in the middle of a scandal after the Ashley Madison site was breached. The website was known for helping men cheat on their wives. Duggar has tried to hide his plethora of skeletons, but the closet seems to have finally exploded.
According to the online detainee records from the state of Arkansas, the eldest child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar pleaded not guilty to child pornography on Friday in a courthouse in Arkansas. The 33-year-old was arrested last week in Springdale, where he lives with his wife, Anna Duggar, and six small children. According to U.S. prosecutors, back in May of 2019, he used the internet to download explicit material. The downloads included abuse of children, with some being under 12 years old.
Duggar was charged with one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography. If the 33-year-old is found guilty, he can face up to 20 years in prison and fines of $250,000 for each of his two charges. The former TLC star did enter a plea of not guilty when he appeared on Zoom from the detention center in Washington County. A hearing is set for Wednesday, and his trial has been put on the schedule for July.
Throughout all this, his wife, Anna, has remained at his side. Many 19 Kids and Counting fans feel that she should take the children and move on since this is an extreme situation. When she found out she had been cheated on, she almost left, but now she is expecting their seventh child—Duggar has not commented regarding his citation and only smirked when his mugshot was taken. TLC fans will be keeping a close eye on the case and hope justice is served.
