15 Star Wars Characters Who Could Appear In The Mandalorian Season 4

15 Star Wars Characters Who Could Appear In The Mandalorian Season 4

With brand-new Star Wars shows adding to the story of the New Republic Era, the list of characters who could appear in The Mandalorian season 4 has grown significantly. The Mandalorian season 3 ends with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and newly adopted son and apprentice Grogu actually resting for once, though they still have a call to adventure. Now that Din has established a deal with the New Republic’s Captain Carson Teva to run bounty hunting jobs on Imperial warlords, he’s more involved in the New Republic’s operations than ever, a thread that will no doubt tie Din and Grogu to many other characters in season 4.

The Mandalorian has often been full of fun, yet fitting character surprises, from the live-action debuts of Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano and Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze to the triumphant return of Luke Skywalker. The Star Wars TV show even became the first to ever take a character from the pages of a novel to the screen, bringing Timothy Olyphant’s Cobb Vanth of the Aftermath trilogy to life. Now that shows such as The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka have created new stories in the New Republic Era, they have opened the door for more characters to appear in The Mandalorian season 4, and here are 15 characters who are most likely to be seen.

15 Din Djarin

15 Star Wars Characters Who Could Appear In The Mandalorian Season 4

As the titular character of the show, Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin will obviously be returning for The Mandalorian season 4. The official father and mentor to Grogu, Din will be focused on the little one more than ever in season 4, taking Grogu on his apprentice journeys as the Armorer instructed in The Mandalorian season 3 finale. Mando will also be running bounty hunting jobs for Captain Carson Teva, taking down Imperials across the Outer Rim as an independent contractor. This season should see a return to the more episodic adventures of the first two seasons as opposed to the massive scope of season 3, chronicling Din’s bounty hunting journey once again.

14 Grogu

The Mandalorian Season 3 Grogu

Mando once said “Wherever I go, he goes,” and so Grogu is the second obvious character who will be appearing in The Mandalorian season 4. He’s now a Mandalorian apprentice, which means that much of his story this season will be focused on him learning more about the Way and combining what he’s learned as a Jedi with what Din can teach him as a Mandalorian. Grogu might even learn how to wield a weapon or two this season, but based on how Din felt about Grogu operating the IG-12 mech suit in The Mandalorian season 3, this idea might be somewhat far-fetched.

13 Bo-Katan Kryze

Bo-Katan Kryze on the planet of Plazir-15 in The Mandalorian season 3.

Given the large role of Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian season 3 and her strong alliance with Din and Grogu, it seems inevitable that she appears in The Mandalorian season 4, even if it’s brief. Din may not live on Mandalore, but his efforts to help retake the planet aren’t forgotten, and his covert still resides there. He could return to the planet at any point, and in doing so, he would cross paths with Bo-Katan. He might even ask for her help with a job, or at least inform her of dark shadows lingering in the galaxy.

12 Greef Karga

Greef Karga looking up in The Mandalorian

The High Magistrate of Nevarro has become a staple of The Mandalorian, which makes it likely that Carl Weathers’ Greef Karga will once again be a part of the story in The Mandalorian season 4. Now that Din and Grogu are residing on Nevarro, it’s very likely that they’ll meet with Greef either about current issues in the galaxy or simply to spend time together. It could even be Greef himself who puts something or someone on Din’s radar, as it’s clear he still has some useful connections from the work he used to do as the magistrate of the Bounty Hunter’s Guild.

11 IG-11

IG-11 is reborn as the Marshal of Nevarro in The Mandalorian season 3, episode 8

The former bounty and nurse droid has returned as the Marshal of Nevarro, and just like Greef, the presence of Taika Waititi’s IG-11 on Din and Grogu’s home planet promises at least a single moment from him in The Mandalorian season 4. It would be great to see him in action again, should any scuffles arise on Nevarro during the course of the season. He could even help Din and Grogu out in some way, as an official reunion of the trio would be very sweet after his initial tragic fate in the season 1 finale.

10 Carson Teva

Mandalorian Season 3 Trailer Carson Teva

Paul Sun-Hyung Lee’s Captain Carson Teva has been up to a lot since his time in The Mandalorian season 3, and as Din’s source of work, he’ll no doubt be around for whatever happens in The Mandalorian season 4. As a part of the unauthorized mission to Seatos in Ahsoka, Carson will likely relay what went down to Din, warning him of the impending threat of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return. Carson is quickly becoming one of the New Republic Era’s most important characters, and that will only be emphasized in The Mandalorian season 4.

9 Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios

Zeb Orrelios in The Mandalorian

Steve Blum’s Zeb Orrelios has already appeared in The Mandalorian once before, briefly speaking with Carson at the Adelphi Outpost in season 3. It was revealed in Ahsoka that his role in the New Republic includes training new recruits, and given that Din and Grogu are technically new recruits, he could provide them with some guiding tips regarding protocol. Even if he’s not giving the Djarin duo any advice, Zeb will still be stationed at Adelphi, which means Din and Grogu could cross his path any time they’re there.

8 Hera Syndulla

Hera Syndulla in Ahsoka.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Hera Syndulla made her live-action debut in Ahsoka, and as it turns out, she has long withstanding connections to Carson himself. This sets up some extreme potential for Hera to enter the story of The Mandalorian season 4, especially if she has some commissions and information for Carson to pass on to Din. She’s not afraid of doing unauthorized work to fight the Empire, which only makes it more likely that she could be a part of the work Din’s doing to help the New Republic eliminate Imperial threats.

7 Elia Kane

Elia Kane - The Mandalorian season 3

First introduced in The Mandalorian season 2, Katy M. O’Brian’s Elia Kane is now revealed to be an Imperial mole working within the New Republic, using the Amnesty Program as her gateway to influence the people around her. Now that Moff Gideon’s dead, it’s unclear exactly who she’ll be loyal to, but she will no doubt become an instrumental part of the Empire’s effort to rise once again. It could very well be that Elia becomes a main antagonist in The Mandalorian season 4, given that she’s already crossed paths with Carson – who was suspicious of her from the start.

6 Cobb Vanth

Cobb Vanth laughs at The Mandalorian in a bar on Mos Pelgo

The Marshal of Mos Pelgo, now Freetown,Timothy Olyphant’s Cobb Vanth hasn’t been seen since his post-credits scene in The Book of Boba Fett, which saw him being revived following his shootout with Cad Bane. The revival of a character doesn’t happen without reason, and considering Cobb didn’t return in The Mandalorian season 3, season 4 is the perfect opportunity to reunite Din with yet another one of his Tatooine allies. He may even try to help with the work Din’s up to, especially if any of it happens to concern Tatooine.

5 Boba Fett

Boba Fett in The Book of Boba Fett.

Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett is yet another character who hasn’t appeared since The Book of Boba Fett, though he was expected to make some kind of appearance in The Mandalorian season 3. It’s unknown what he’s up to now that Mos Espa is free of the Pykes’ threat, but considering his loyalty to Din and his disdain for the Empire, he could easily be recruited for help in Din’s fights against Imperials. It would be great to see Boba in action again, especially if it’s anything as impressive as his fight scenes in The Mandalorian season 2.

4 Fennec Shand

Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand is now the right-hand of Boba, which means that she’ll follow just about anywhere he goes. If he decides to help Din and Grogu at any point, then she’ll be there, too. As someone who used to be a famed mercenary, it’s also likely that Fennec might have some information or resources that could be useful to Din. A character who originated in The Mandalorian season 1, it would be great to see her again in season 4 as the story goes to new depths.

3 Mon Mothma

Mon Mothma in a hologram as seen in the Ahsoka trailer.

Genevieve O’Reilly’s Mon Mothma is now the Chancellor of the New Republic, and although she minds her position of authority, she also makes a point to connect to Hera about the severity of Thrawn’s return after the other senators refused to believe her. This could mean that Mon Mothma might not only appear in The Mandalorian season 4, but could potentially help with whatever Din’s up to, similar to how she operated with Luthen Rael in Andor.

2 Ezra Bridger

Eman Esfandi makes his debut as Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka episode 6.

Now that he’s back home in the Star Wars galaxy, Eman Esfandi’s Ezra Bridger could become a faithful ally to Din and Grogu. There’s no doubt he would love to get to see a “Baby Yoda,” and given that Din’s other key Force-sensitive ally is trapped in another galaxy, Ezra could take on that role in The Mandalorian season 4. Given that he’s due to have a key role in The Mandalorian-era movie, Ezra appearing in this season could help to tie him further into the already existing story and character dynamics.

1 Grand Admiral Thrawn

Grand Admiral Thrawn In Ahsoka Finale

Last but certainly not least, it’s only inevitable that Lars Mikkelsen’s Grand Admiral Thrawn crosses Din’s path somehow, and The Mandalorian season 4 is the perfect opportunity for Mando to understand just how big of a threat he poses to the galaxy. Thrawn is easily one of Star Wars’ most cunning and threatening villains, with only the Force as his weakness. He could already know about Din and Grogu, but when or if he sees what Din’s doing to wipe out the Imperial Remnants, it’s very likely that the two of them will get put on Thrawn’s radar this season – thus establishing him as their adversary.
