Finding characters way more powerful than individual MCU Avengers isn’t impossible, but the impending arrival of the X-Men from their respective movies has made the task a lot easier. As the Avengers have proved time and again, there are precious few who can stand up to their combined might – though the combined force of the X-Men would give them a run for their money. One-on-one, meanwhile, would not end well for many single Avengers, at least as far as these particular X-Men from Fox’s X-Men franchise are concerned.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix was the final cinematic outing for Fox’s X-Men, concluding nearly 20 years of one continuity. Now that the X-Men are a part of the MCU, Deadpool 3 looks set to revisit the characters and actors that made them famous before the MCU will most likely introduce a brand new spin on each of them. The impact of Jason Stryker’s powers was apparent in X2: X-Men United, as he was able to overpower even Charles Xavier’s powerful mind and nearly cause him to destroy all mutants with Cerebro. As one of the most powerful mutants in existence, influencing Charles Xavier is no mean feat and sets the bar for what Jason Stryker is capable of. Turning Carol Danvers, who was most recently seen flying into a star, against the other Avengers is enough cause for concern. Otherwise, Stryker needs only to insert horrific illusions into the mind of any Avenger to effectively remove them from the battle entirely.

9 Quicksilver Has Untapped Potential

The MCU’s Quicksilver, portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, was woefully underpowered, owing his heroic demise to a bullet (or several). Conversely, the most famous scene of Evan Peters’ Quicksilver in the X-Men movie franchise sees him moving bullets midair to the tune of “Time in a Bottle,” reducing a firefight to a cakewalk. The ramifications of his mind-boggling speed in the X-Men franchise are pretty hard to comprehend, but it is safe to say that Quicksilver would be too fast for any current MCU Avenger to even score a glancing hit as he wreaks supersonic havoc. That is unless Doctor Strange recovers the Time Stone.

8 Wolverine Is Practically Unkillable

Wolverine’s brawling prowess puts him on a par with Captain America, but his regenerative healing factor makes it difficult for just about anyone to overwhelm him. Wolverine in berserker mode, meanwhile, is a different story entirely. Wolverine’s tenacity would turn a bout with the strongest Avengers, such as Hulk, into a brawl of attrition. What Wolverine lacks in technical prowess in hand-to-hand combat, he more than makes up for in sheer ferocity and determination, something he heroically demonstrated until his final breath in Logan.

7 Juggernaut Cannot Be Stopped

Neither iteration of Juggernaut on the big screen seemed to demonstrate the true extent of his Cyttorak-imbued powers from the comics, though the one portrayed by Vinnie Jones in X-Men: The Last Stand came pretty close before Leech sapped him of his power. Juggernaut in Deadpool 2, meanwhile, was capable of going toe-to-toe with Colossus, one of the strongest superheroes in Marvel, but Juggernaut’s true power levels are inextricably tied to him being unstoppable when in motion. Not even Hulk or Thor could stop a fully-powered Juggernaut, and it’s something that begs to be depicted on-screen.

Captain America, Black Panther, Riri, and Rhodey, would all find themselves particularly doomed in a battle against him, while his influence over the Uru-made Mjolnir would strike as much fear as when Hela did the same. Magneto at full power is an apocalyptic force in his own right.

Many of Apocalypse’s powers are tantamount to those of certain Infinity Stones, and the Avengers did not fare well against their combined might before. Add to that his ability to enhance the powers of other mutants, and he borders on godlike. Where Apocalypse falls short, it seems, is the ability to maintain the loyalty of his Four Horsemen.

The consequences of Rogue’s powers were a pretty big deal in her appearances in Fox’s X-Men franchise, as she could drain the life force and powers of any fellow mutant, potentially leaving the recipient devoid of life entirely. All Rogue would need to do against the Avengers is lay a hand on Carol Danvers, kill her, and let loose with her new power – something which Rogue has already achieved (non-lethally) in the comics. Even if Rogue was not able to kill with just a touch, the ability to use their individual powers against them would be a big issue for both superpowered and non-superpowered Avengers.

If Domino finds herself in a one-on-one against any Avenger, it’s safe to say that she will probably be fine. Her ability to warp all odds in her favor within her immediate vicinity carries some significant implications that not even the famously quick-thinking Iron Man could circumvent. Warping fate itself into favorable outcomes is not something that can be meaningfully prepared for, with even the most intricate of plans likely to fail if their goal is to hinder or harm Domino. While she can’t control them, Domino’s powers are almost godlike in their consequences.

While the Dark Phoenix story has been done to death, Jean Grey still has the capability of unleashing a cosmic force so vast that not even Captain Marvel could stand up to it. In making short work of the Illuminati on Earth-838, a Scarlet Witch powered by the Darkhold showed what she was capable of, and it is something that the Phoneix Force could easily replicate with Jean Grey to even more devastating effect.

Scarlet Witch without the power of the Darkhold to back her up, meanwhile, would have had a much harder time facing an unbridled Xavier, which would be the case for any MCU Avenger. After all, Stryker was nearly successful in influencing Professor X to kill all mutants and humans on Earth. With that power, the likes of Captain America and Ms. Marvel wouldn’t stand a chance with this X-Men leader.
