10 Wild Trick Arrows Hawkeye Still Hasn’t Used In The MCU

10 Wild Trick Arrows Hawkeye Still Hasn’t Used In The MCU

Hawkeye has used plenty of arrows during his time in the MCU, but there are still several from the comics that have yet to be introduced. From explosive arrows to electro-shock darts, Clint Barton’s quiver of trick arrows has gotten him out of intense situations. Despite not having any superhuman powers like the rest of the Avengers, Hawkeye’s arrows are what make him stand out.

From The Avengers to his solo series Hawkeye, Clint’s arrows have become increasingly impressive. However, there are still plenty of arrows from the Marvel comics that he has yet to use. These trick arrows could have come in handy in past MCU situations, but there are still opportunities for them to show up in future projects.

10 Tear Gas Arrow

10 Wild Trick Arrows Hawkeye Still Hasn’t Used In The MCU

The tear gas arrow might look similar to the smoke screen arrow from a distance, but it is definitely much more painful for Hawkeye’s enemies. The arrow emits tear gas a few seconds after release, impairing vision and breathing for those in the area. Just like the smoke screen arrow, the tear gas arrow would’ve been an effective way for Hawkeye to get out of tricky situations by causing a huge distraction. With a looming multiversal war, this arrow would be useful on crowds of multiversal enemies.

9 Sleeping Gas Arrow

Hawkeye Marvel Sleeping Gas Arrow

The sleeping gas arrow has a similar effect as Hawkeye’s stun or pulse arrows, neutralizing enemies without posing as much risk to their wellbeing. However, it is much more useful on a small group of enemies, as the sleeping gas emitted covers more than one individual. Though the sleeping gas is quite powerful and can knock someone out instantly, it can also be quite simply dodged by a person holding their breath.

8 Boomerang Arrow

Hawkeye Marvel Boomerang Arrow

While explaining his trick arrows in Hawkeye, Kate Bishop suggests to Clint a boomerang arrow that will always come back to him. Although the boomerang arrow was teased in Hawkeye, it has yet to be actually used in the MCU. The boomerang arrow could make its on-screen debut in a future debate between Clint and Kate, perhaps with the younger hero crafting a prototype that her mentor finds useful after all.

7 T Arrow

Hawkeye Marvel T Arrow

A regular arrow for the most part, the T arrow’s defining feature is its pair of arms that extend into a T shape. When fired through an appropriately sized object such as a grenade, the arrow can hook onto the object and create a deadly pairing. Hawkeye has paired his trick arrows with other things before, even launching Ant-Man off the tip of one. As such, the T arrow would be relatively easy to incorporate into the MCU, and appears accessible enough for even a more inexperienced archer to use.

6 Bomb-Sniffing Arrow

Hawkeye Bomb Sniffing Arrow

In the comics, Hawkeye uses a thermite-tipped arrow to find a bomb planted in Mockingbird’s apartment. The arrow doesn’t just locate bombs, but it also allows Hawkeye to remotely detonate them. With the MCU seemingly taking note from its early success and including more grounded hero stories again, the bomb-sniffing arrow or a variation of sorts could definitely come in handy in a future battle on Earth.

5 Bola Arrow

Hawkeye Marvel Bola Arrow

The bola arrow is a pretty common arrow – not just for Hawkeye, but for archers across all media. The arrow has three weighted balls attached to cables on the arrowhead. The balls spin rapidly when released and wind up, allowing the user to entangle an object or person. Another pretty accessible arrow for any archer to use, the bola arrow might’ve been pretty useful in past battles such as the Battle of New York. However, it’s not too late for Hawkeye to introduce it to the MCU.

4 Rust Arrow

Hawkeye Marvel Rust Arrow

The rust arrow is unique in that it isn’t really used. In fact, it was barely seen again after its first comic appearance. The rust arrow is the blueprint for Hawkeye’s future chemically altered arrows, with the original containing a chemical that caused rusting. Considering how the rust arrow almost took out Iron Man in the comics, The Avengers would’ve been the perfect time to see it in the MCU, as Hawkeye was being controlled by Loki. However, with heroes like Rhodey still using metal suits, the rust arrow can still have use in the MCU – and could come especially in handy for the events of something like Armor Wars.

3 Razor Wire Arrow

Hawkeye Marvel Razor Wire Arrow

A pretty self-explanatory trick arrow, the razor wire arrow pulls a line of barbed or razor wire when released. Though it’s non-lethal, it would be a pretty painful arrow to be on the receiving end of, and seems like it would’ve come in handy in Hawkeye’s SHIELD interrogations. Perhaps the MCU’s Hawkeye is too nice to put his enemies through the pain of this particular trick arrow – or perhaps it’s more likely that he didn’t want to have to deal with untangling his arrows from his enemies.

2 Vibranium Arrow

Hawkeye Marvel Vibranium Arrow

Considering how much of a hot commodity vibranium has been in the MCU for years, it’s surprising that Hawkeye hasn’t debuted a vibranium arrow yet. The metal is almost impossible for the average person to get their hands on, but Clint’s tech definitely could’ve been enhanced through his Avengers connections. That said, even if Hawkeye does have vibranium arrows on him, it’d make sense that he isn’t using them senselessly given how rare the material is. However, a multiversal war with powerful variants might be the perfect time to pull them out.

1 Adamantium Arrow

Hawkeye Marvel Adamantium Arrow

With the metal adamantium yet to be introduced in the MCU, it makes sense that Hawkeye hasn’t used the adamantium arrows that appear in the comics. The unbreakable alloy will likely be introduced into the MCU with Wolverine, which is when these arrows could come into play. Though perhaps still not as strong as the MCU’s vibranium, the franchise could still show off adamantium’s properties with this Hawkeye trick arrow, especially as it would be able to cut through almost any substance.
