10 Ways All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Can Be Better Than Season 1

10 Ways All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Can Be Better Than Season 1

All of Us Are Dead season 2 can be better than season 1, but only if nails some important aspects that made Netflix’s zombie K-drama so successful. Even though All of Us Are Dead 2 might not premiere in 2024 based on Netflix’s K-content slate for this year, the anticipation for the series to return continues. All of Us Are Dead was a hit for the streamer and is often listed among the best K-dramas on Netflix.

Therefore, All of Us Are Dead season 2’s story will have to live up to some high expectations. The fact that the series is taking years to return only sets the bar higher for the second season, as viewers will expect something bigger and bolder from All of Us Are Dead. Hopefully, the Netflix zombie series can deliver everything season 1 did and more.

10 All Of Us Are Dead’s Halfbies Can Steal The Show In Season 2

Nam-ra and the halfbies could be the focus of season 2

All of Us Are Dead’s halfbies – zombies who did not fully transform and retain their consciousness but can still be dangerous – were among the most interesting things about the show. Considering where Nam-ra’s story with the halfbies is going based on how season 1 ended, it can be assumed that the halfbies will be front and center in season 2. Introducing plenty of “superpowered zombies” like Nam-ra and Gwi-nam, both good and evil, can make All of Us Are Dead 2 excitingly different from season 1.

9 All Of Us Are Dead 2 Needs To Feel Bigger Than Season 1

Audiences’ expectations will be high

10 Ways All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Can Be Better Than Season 1

All of Us Are Dead was an action-packed series full of intense set pieces and great visual effects, all of which will have to feel bigger in season 2. After several years of waiting, All of Us Are Dead 2 cannot be just more of the same, especially regarding the scale of the story. Now that the show will no longer be limited to one location – the Hyosan school has been destroyed – the series could take place in multiple areas and even go beyond Korea. Sweet Home 2 is an interesting example of how to expand the scope of a horror K-drama.

8 All Of Us Are Dead 2 Can Have Even Better Action Sequences

Season 1 included great fight scenes

One of the easiest ways for All of Us Are Dead season 2 to top the first season is by delivering even better action sequences. From the way the zombies moved to the actual fights, All of Us Are Dead’s action scenes were incredibly well-choreographed, and they were potentialized by great directing and solid camera work. These elements need to return in All of Us Are Dead season 2, and the show must try to outdo itself. It will not be easy, though, considering how high the first season set the bar.

7 All Of Us Are Dead 2 Needs To Include A Time-Skip

All of Us Are Dead 2 can reflect the real passage of time

Another way All of Us Are Dead can feel different and better than the previous season is by including a time skip, allowing viewers to follow older versions of the characters they met in season 1. At least three years will have passed since the show’s debut by the time All of Us Are Dead season 2 premiers, which is why a time-skip would be welcome either now or in a potential season 3. Instead of redoing the “high schoolers surviving the zombie apocalypse” storyline, All of Us Are Dead could now explore different character dynamics.

6 All Of Us Are Dead 2 Must Not Bring Cheong-san Back Right Away

Cheong-san’s death still needs to impact On-jo

All of Us Are Dead must continue to have a high sense of stakes if it wants to be as good as or better than season 1, which is why it should not bring Cheong-san back right away. It is difficult to imagine Cheong-san not returning considering Yoon Chan-young appeared in the season 2 announcement video shared by Netflix. Even so, All of Us Are Dead can bring Cheong-san while still maintaining the impact of his “death” in season 1’s finale. Not reuniting Cheong-san and On-jo so soon, for example.

5 All Of Us Are Dead Must Not Move Away From Its Season 1 Characters

The show must keep the focus on the current characters

On-jo, Su-hyeok, Cheong-san, and Nam-ra in All of Us Are Dead

All of Us Are Dead 2 cannot repeat the mistake made by Sweet Home 2, which shifted the show’s focus from the season 1 characters to brand new ones. While it is natural for any series to welcome new players in a new season, audiences will always be more attached to the ones they have been following since the beginning of the story. The main All of Us Are Dead characters, such as On-jo and Su-hyeok, must remain in the spotlight. The same applies to the supporting characters, such as Dae-su and Mi-jin.

4 All Of Us Are Dead 2 Will Still Need New Characters

The story will have to be expanded

Although All of Us Are Dead must not move away too much from its original protagonists, the show will need new, compelling characters through which the story can evolve. The survivors of Hyosan will need new allies, especially with the military hunting for whatever zombies are left, including Nam-ra and her halfbie friends. Assuming All of Us Are Dead 2 will be bigger in scope than season 1, these new characters must be interesting enough to “make up” for the ones who died in the show’s previous season.

3 All Of Us Are Dead Needs New Major Villains

Most of the show’s villains are dead

For All of Us Are Dead 2 to be better than season 1, it will have to include major new villains. While zombies will surely continue to be the recurring antagonists, All of Us Are Dead’s actual villains were either humans or halfbies. Dr. Lee Byeong-chan, who created the virus out of spite against humans, is an example. All of the All of Us Are Dead villains, including Gwi-nam, are presumably dead by the end of the first season. This leaves room for the show to introduce plenty of new obstacles.

2 All Of Us Are Dead 2 Can’t Replicate What Season 1 Did

All of Us Are Dead needs to do something different

To top season 1, All of Us Are Dead must avoid copying it. As successful as the first season of the horror K-drama was, All of Us Are Dead’s original premise is arguably impossible to replicate. Most of season 1 took place inside a school that no longer exists, and the characters are currently safe living in a quarantine zone. All of Us Are Dead should embrace the fact the show can’t be like season 1 again and do something completely different, even if it leaves viewers a little confused at first.

1 All Of Us Are Dead Shouldn’t Create Another Love Triangle

The show’s couples are already settled

All of Us Are Dead is also a romance K-drama, with two main couples being developed throughout the show. Before Nam-ra and Su-hyeok, as well as On-jo and Cheong-san, became a thing, the Netflix series tried to create a love triangle involving On-jo, Su-hyeok, and Cheong-san. While funny initially, the love triangle drama at the beginning was by far the least interesting aspect of All of Us Are Dead. Season 2 should instead focus on whether these two couples will get to have a happy ending.
