10 TV Shows That Should Have Their Own LEGO Sets

10 TV Shows That Should Have Their Own LEGO Sets

From Doctor Who to The Simpsons, LEGO have created construction sets based on some of the biggest media franchises around. The Danish toy company is responsible for some truly magnificent brick-built creations, with their building block releases inviting individuals of all ages to unleash their imaginative capabilities.

Despite LEGO’s vast array of licensed themes, however, there are still many television series that the company has yet to explore. These TV Shows could provide LEGO with some of their most popular sets yet, with the programs offering plenty of potential for some truly novel brick-built models.

Tom And Jerry

10 TV Shows That Should Have Their Own LEGO Sets

With their first animated short having released in 1940, Tom And Jerry’s popularity has continued to increase, having spawned countless spin-off series and motion pictures. As they also have a huge international audience, it wouldn’t be surprising if they came up with their own range of LEGO sets.

Tom And Jerry’s slapstick style could create some fun play features for their LEGO builds, with owners of these sets encouraged to build the various traps that Tom uses in his attempts to capture his nemesis, Jerry. In addition, the franchise could lend itself well to LEGO’s board games line, as one player assumes the role of Jerry, trying to evade the clutches of player two’s feline menace Tom.

Arrow

Oliver Queen prepares to shoot the Kryptonite Arrow

The Arrowverse has created many enjoyable superhero shows, but one of the greatest is arguably Arrow. This spectacular comic-book series follows billionaire playboy Oliver Queen, as he teams up with bodyguard John Diggle and quirky hacker Felicity Smoak to defend the crime-ridden streets of Star City. Arrow features many memorable moments throughout its run, including some of television’s best cliffhangers, giving LEGO plenty of scope for brick-built recreations.

Iconic moments from the series including Oliver’s prison stint and Sara and the League Of Assassins’ clock tower fight would deliver some exciting additions to LEGO’s catalog. Meanwhile, famous locations from the series such as the Arrowcave and the A.R.G.U.S. headquarters could translate nicely to building sets, giving fans recognizable recreations of some of the show’s most prominent settings.

Thunderbirds

International Rescue prepare for lift-off in Thunderbird 1.

First broadcast in 1965, Thunderbirds has proven a major draw for audiences over the years, with viewers of all ages enthralled by the heroic deeds of International Rescue. Gerry Anderson’s beloved puppet series would make for an exciting collaboration with LEGO, with the show demonstrating lots of creativity within its central premise.

Thunderbirds sets could allow builders to create their own Tracy Island, which acts as the team’s base of operations. The island is full of many unique areas LEGO could recreate, including a retractable swimming pool concealing Thunderbird 1’s launchpad and the doughnut-shaped “Round House.” The hit television series also features various iconic vehicles, most notably International Rescue’s airborne transporter Thunderbird 2, which could offer plenty of interesting builds.

WandaVision

The Maximoff Family From Marvel's WandaVision series pose for the titles .

Marvel Studios’ recent venture into the world of television has led to some truly excellent TV programs, and among their most impressive shows is WandaVision. This rather unique comic-book series involves Wanda turning the quiet American town of Westview into a world based around U.S. sitcoms (WandaVision also delivered some of the most emotional quotes .) With characters, such as Monica Rambeau and White Vision, having already been released as minifigures, LEGO WandaVision sets remain a tantalizing prospect.

The show’s quirky aesthetics would make it ideal for the LEGO treatment, with WandaVision’s recreations of American sitcoms opening the toy company up to some truly novel sets. Scenes, such as the ’60s talent show and the SWORD circus tent, could also make for some fun models, with plenty of play potential for children and adults alike.

The X Files

The X-Files 2016 Revival Cast shine their searchlights in front of a spooky green/white backdrop

Created by Chris Carter, The X Files has developed a major cult following since its debut in 1993. The series follows FBI agents, Mulder and Scully, as they investigate numerous paranormal incidents. The show’s intriguing supernatural mysteries could make for some striking LEGO sets, with the program’s seemingly unlimited scope opening many possibilities.

Episodes such as “The Post-Modern Prometheus” and “Hollywood A.D.” could lead to some impressive sets, with their striking cinematography potentially resulting in some of LEGO’s most unique releases. Furthermore, a buildable version of Mulder’s office would offer an enjoyable build for the show’s fans (with the set containing some of the most well-known aspects of the sci-fi program, including the FBI agent’s iconic “I Want To Believe” poster).

The Sarah Jane Adventures

Conceived by Russell T Davies, The Sarah Jane Adventures is arguably one of the BBC’s greatest children’s series (and is also responsible for some of the best Doctor Who spin-off stories.) The sci-fi show stars Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith, who leads a group of determined youngsters in fighting numerous extra-terrestrial threats. The Sarah Jane Adventures’ childlike nature would make it a natural fit for LEGO, with the toy company’s sets often proving especially appealing for kids.

Perhaps the most tempting idea for a Sarah Jane Adventures set is one based around 13 Bannerman Road. This hugely iconic building is home to Sarah Jane’s attic, where she keeps the alien supercomputer, Mr. Smith, alongside various extra-terrestrial artifacts. Sarah’s warm and welcoming household conveys a wondrous vibe throughout the series, inviting viewers into the brave journalist’s dangerous lifestyle. This more fantastical tone could translate nicely into one of LEGO’s most charming releases.

Sherlock

Created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, Sherlock offers a truly novel adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective stories, transporting Sherlock and Watson’s story from Victorian England to Present Day London. This more contemporary approach sees the self-proclaimed “high-functioning sociopath” use more modern methods to solve the show’s mysteries, which LEGO could adapt for the interactive features seen in ranges including “The Hidden Side” and “LEGO Super Mario.”

With these LEGO releases utilizing phone apps to uncover hidden details and offer gaming challenges, a LEGO Sherlock range could take a similar approach. These potential sets could see builders encouraged to solve cases by using their smartphones to uncover clues within the brick-built models, helping to evoke the series’ more mysterious feel. Additionally, 221B Baker Street would make for an especially satisfying build, with the location being a particularly prominent facet of Sherlock lore.

Agents Of SHIELD

Season 1 Agents of Shield

Before Marvel Studios embarked upon their own television endeavors, Agents Of SHIELD provided viewers with some especially exhilarating Marvel content. This action-packed series follows SHIELD agent Phil Coulson, as he enlists a new team of operatives on a series of covert missions. With many viewers believing Agents Of SHIELD to be Marvel’s best TV series, the gripping superhero series’ LEGO sets seem long overdue.

The SHIELD agents’ original base of operations – known as “The Bus” – could prove a particularly enjoyable set to construct, with the hi-tech plane incorporating many of the rooms featured within the series (such as Fitz and Simmons’ lab, and the SHIELD briefing room). The Inhuman settlement, entitled “Afterlife,” could also provide a fun build and create one of the show’s most vivid settings.

The Grand Tour

The Grand Tour- Top Gear Hosts

Clarkson, Hammond, and May are among some of television’s most popular trios, with their motoring series The Grand Tour, in particular, becoming one of Amazon Prime’s biggest hits. The series features the hosts’ usual combination of challenges and entertaining car reviews, and the show’s zany sense of humor makes it the perfect fit for the LEGO brand.

Vehicles including Clarkson’s “MeaTi” and James May’s pub-based RV caravan offer some of the presenters’ most ingenious creations (their wacky appearance could also allow for some truly unforgettable LEGO sets). Meanwhile, Clarkson, Hammond, and May’s pirate-themed adventure, entitled “A Massive Hunt,” could deliver some amusing builds, with the TV personalities having modified their cars around the episode’s swashbuckling theme.

Mr. Bean

Mr. Bean with chair and mop

The UK is known for its rip-roaringly funny sitcoms, but one of Britain’s greatest comedic offerings is Mr. Bean. This charming sitcom series involves the slapstick antics of Rowan Atkinson’s Mr. Bean, as he inadvertently becomes embroiled in several crazy situations. The show’s broad comedy stylings have seen it achieve huge international appeal, substantially increasing its potential audience for a LEGO range.

Mr. Bean’s hilariously exaggerated scenarios would give LEGO plenty of material for some especially novel releases. The bumbling figure’s creative means around some potentially problematic incidents could lead to some of the toy company’s most inventive sets, with Mr. Bean’s nutty creations such as the armchair-driven mini potentially unleashing LEGO’s full imaginative capabilities.
