90 Day Fiancé is very familiar with the drama and chaos that happens between couples. However, once in a while, there are bigger issues that go beyond the relationship, and even so big that the production team needs to step in, or couples need to step out to deal with their issues.
While this show does go into their personal lives, sometimes there are big events that need to be handled privately, and fans are left full of wonder and concern. While most of the drama can be handled lightheartedly, it’s not always like that in the real world, and the couples come face to face with real-life issues.
Angela Having Kids
The talk of having kids is common amongst the couples, but for Angela and Michael, it was a major issue. Angela was told by her doctor that her ovaries were shrinking, which meant she was entering the menopause phase and could not have a baby.
For Michael and his culture, it was important that he had his own child, which caused a lot of trouble for the couple. Angela asked her daughter if she could tote her baby, but she declined. This was an emotional time for the couple that stemmed past their base-level relationship and petty arguments.
The Talk About Child Support
Couple Eric and Leida from season 4 dealt with the issue of child support. When Leida moved in with Eric, she disliked his daughter, and eventually kicked her out. She tried to convince Eric to stop paying for child support, mostly because Leida could have more money for her and Eric, but she also mentioned how it was for her own son as well.
However, fans were not swayed by her spoiled behavior. Everyone was caught off guard when Ledia brought up discontinuing child support, and this was a topic that carried a lot of weight.
Criminal Records
Unfortunately for Geoffrey Pascal and Jorge Nava, criminal records are on their backs forever, and neither of them was truthful about it from the beginning. Geoffrey had previously spent time in jail for numerous things, but he withheld the truth for a long time. Jorge also came out to Anfisa about his time spent in prison for marijuana possession.
Both of these large issues caused mistrust and drama in their relationships, and the production team could do nothing but see how it all played out.
Avoiding Family Duties
Luis and Molly fell in love immediately, but things took a turn for the worst when Luis met Molly’s two daughters. Luis showed little interest in becoming a father figure, but instead made sexual jokes around them and showed little care for a real relationship to form.
This made the daughters uncomfortable around him. Fans were not sure how Luis would fit into the family if he wasn’t even interested in the first place. The couple did marry but soon divorced.
Gambling Addiction
Couple Ronald and Tiffany faced an issue that was rather complex. Ronald was revealed to have a gambling addiction, and he was in a large amount of debt.
These lies and struggles made Tiffany unsure about the relationship, but she held onto hope and thought he would fight his addiction and they could move on from it. However, that was not the case, and Tiffany left Ronald.
Already Having Kids
Couple Robert and Anny have had a baby together, but the journey was not easy. Anny found out that Robert had 5 children with 4 different women beforehand. This was a complete shock to fans, and suspicion arose.
Anny seemed to handle the situation well, though. It’s not uncommon for people to have children from previous relationships, although the issue can be complex for all parties involved, from the couple to the kids themselves.
Struggles Of Getting a K1 Visa
The premise of the show is to get the K1 Visa, but it is harder than people think, and the show faces this issue straight on. One major issue is the money. The visa is not cheap, and some couples just cannot afford it.
Another issue is how long it takes to get it. There are many steps and rules in getting a visa, and it takes a long time for some couples. A lot of these struggles with getting a visa are handled behind the scenes, but audiences do get to see just how complicated the bureaucracy is.
Lying About Marriage
Couple Sumit and Jenny seemed to be doing alright together until Sumit dropped the bomb that he was currently married. This threw many people off guard, and their situation became more serious than ever before.
Still, Jenny stayed with him, and they remained together while he pursued a divorce. However, fans found it hard to believe that Sumit would actually go through with his separation. A lot of trust was broken within the couple as well.
Ed’s Verbal Abuse
It seems as though Big Ed’s true form is coming to light, and fans are displeased with his actions. Audiences saw a leaked phone call with Ed talking to his ex-girlfriend, Liz, where Ed told her that she was stupid and called her the f word. Fans were not happy with Ed’s jealously and his overall behavior towards Liz.
There were also moments with Rose from season 5 that left viewers with a sour taste about Ed. Even though he still has a large following, there are bigger issues at hand, and people think Ed does not deserve the fame he has.
Financial Struggles
It’s no surprise that some couples would face financial issues, but for some couples, it almost cost them their relationship. There are lots of cast members who start platforms asking for money to help with their travels or overall being able to stay afloat. Paul and Karine, for example, struggled with money from the very beginning, and even with their baby on the way.
They struggled to afford a crib and other necessities and even lived in a camper at some point. These financial struggles were real-life issues for a handful of couples, and a lot of times it prevented them from visiting one another.
