There’s always been concern among the fanbase about if Spider-Man will remain in the MCU due to the contentious question over his rights. Since Sony has launched their own strange franchise – Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU), which currently lacks a Spider-Man – some are expecting that he would cross over there by the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
That wasn’t the case and for now, it looks like he will continue on in the MCU. Now fans are hoping a fourth film will be announced, along with it the inclusion of other iconic Spider-Man characters currently owned by Sony. In particular, these heroes and villains should make their way into the MCU sometime soon, whether in Spider-Man 4 or even in their own project.
Spider-Man (Miles Morales)
Ever since Peter Parker first showed up in the Captain America: Civil War trailer, many fans have been asking for one thing next – Miles Morales. The young hero was only introduced in 2011, and even before Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, he was highly desired for the MCU. Importantly, he is already linked with the universe as in Spider-Man: Homecoming, his uncle, Aaron Davis, played by Donald Glover, referenced him.
In the time that’s passed in the universe since that moment, it’s actually already been close to a decade, thus making Miles perfectly aged up for his live-action debut. Of course, the perfect spot would be right away in Spider-Man 4, as Peter could use some new friends and allies now that everyone’s forgotten he exists.
Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew)
There are some characters who are clearly in the Spider-Family but don’t share their origins with Peter Parker. One such character is Jessica Drew AKA Spider-Woman. She is a classic Marvel character, and one of the major Avengers yet to feature in the MCU. Given her role in the comics arc, many think that Emilia Clarke will be playing her – or at least Queen Veranke using her visage – in Secret Invasion.
When she does arrive, she’d be able to join the ranks of Black Widow and Nick Fury as one of the best spies in the MCU if they keep her origins as a former HYDRA agent intact. Her introduction could also help incorporate the other Spider-Women and Spider-Girls.
Ghost Spider (Gwen Stacy)
Like Miles Morales, the door is wide open to introduce an important ally and romantic partner for Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy. She could come into play, whether from across the Multiverse or as her Earth-616 self, as her superhero-counterpart, Ghost Spider.
Such a story could explore their relationship, and with her powers, it would be unlike what was previously showcased. The caveat is that while Peter and Gwen work well together, many fans aren’t eager for Peter and MJ to truly split apart, and it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll be over his feelings for MJ anytime soon.
Black Cat (Felicia Hardy)
Spider-Man: No Way Home almost did what Sony’s been wanting for a long while – to bring the Sinister Six to live-action. With Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, the Lizard, and Sandman, they got to six. Although, Tom Hardy’s Venom could technically fill out the group. Nevertheless, this does cross several names off the list for potential future villains. One of the best prospects from that assembly of characters is Felicia Hardy AKA Black Cat.
She is Catwoman’s analog from Marvel Comics and has acted as both villain and hero. Like Gwen Stacy, she’d be a good option for a romantic partner for Peter in a future film.
Silver Sable (Silvija Sablinova)
If Black Cat comes into play, then so can her long-time partner, Silver Sable. Like Black Cat, she is more of an anti-hero, thanks to her occupation as a mercenary and hitwoman.
Silver Sable would make for an interesting addition to the MCU and Spider-Man’s story as it would introduce yet another international character. With Black Widow, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel, the scope of MCU heroics isn’t solely American or based in the cosmos. She could even come into play with fellow mercenaries of the Wild Pack.
Silk (Cindy Moon)
Over the past decade, the Spider-Family has expanded exponentially, and one of the most prominent members is Silk. Cindy Moon was actually bitten by the same spider that bit Peter, but unlike him, she creates organic webbing. Cindy has actually already appeared in the MCU, as one of Peter’s classmates before the Blip, played by Tiffany Epensen, but she obviously didn’t have her powers.
She could be an interesting new ally, especially if they delve into her backstory – something that could’ve gone down during the Blip – but like Black Cat and Silver Sable, Sony’s got plans for her. She could be one of the leading heroes in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe as a Silk TV show is supposedly still in the works for Amazon Prime Video, and she’s going to appear in upcoming Spider-Verse films too.
The Rose (Richard Fisk)
One of the most exciting elements from Phase Four thus far has been the reincorporation of Marvel Television by bringing back both Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio from Daredevil. They already have a busy future on Disney+ with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Echo, and finally Daredevil: Born Again. Therefore, the opportunity is ripe to introduce more characters related to Kingpin, including his son, Richard Fisk.
The Rose could function quite well in Daredevil’s ongoing story. He doesn’t follow in his father’s footsteps, even going so far as try and kill him and becoming a violent anti-hero thereafter. Kingpin and Vanessa didn’t have a kid in Daredevil, but since Daredevil: Born Again isn’t a full revival, his family history could be altered to bring in his son.
Mister Negative (Martin Li)
While the MCU Spider-Man films have gone through their fair share of iconic Spider-Man villains, there are still plenty more to incorporate. One of the best options would be Mister Negative. He has also served as an antagonist to the Punisher and Cloak and Dagger, so introducing him could be a way to bring them into the fold too. Many will remember him from Marvel’s Spider-Man as one of the main antagonists.
He does have an in to the MCU already since in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Aunt May was shown working for FEAST, the community organization started by Martin Li AKA Mister Negative. Bringing him in would also for some serious character development as Spider-Man is forced to contend with his own inner demons.
Silvermane (Silvio Manfredi)
Another positive of having characters like Daredevil, Kingpin, She-Hulk, and soon Wonder Man in the MCU is that in some way they are all connected to the Maggia, one of the prominent crime syndicates in the comics. They did play a limited role in Agent Carter, but nothing really in the modern era and there are plenty of members who could come into play, whether owned by Sony or not, like Silvio Manfredi AKA Silvermane.
He is a crime boss, and a possible rival to Kingpin, who comes into conflict with Spider-Man repeatedly. What sets him apart, and would be intriguing to see the MCU handle, is that he becomes a cyborg villain later in life. Silvermane along with Hammerhead, Tombstone, and/or Count Nefaria, all should come into play as more street-level stories get told.
Wraith (Yuri Watanabe)

Yuri Watanabe was once a police officer in New York City, but she became disillusioned with how the department handles things, especially with all the things the rich can get away with. She leaves the force and becomes the vigilante, Wraith, exacting her own form of justice.
They’d likely want to introduce her first as a cop and show that evolution over the span of a whole season, rather than simply have her show up already as a costumed vigilante. However, there is something exciting about bringing her in. She tends to use various different equipment from different villains which could be a fun way for the MCU to show how their weapons or technology can be used differently.
