10 Shows To Watch If You Are Missing The Golden Bachelor

The Golden Bachelor finale aired on November 20, 2023, and there have been many new developments off camera that have been making fans miss the show – fortunately, there are other great shows to watch until the next installment. The pilot season of The Golden Bachelor featured 72-year-old lead Gerry Turner, as he dated 22 women in an effort to find the woman he couldn’t live without. He narrowed it down to his final three, Leslie Fhima, Theresa Nist, and Faith Martin, and went on hometown dates with all three. He also told all three that he was in love with them.

Gerry chose Leslie and Theresa to take to the overnight Fantasy Suite dates in Costa Rica. It seemed like Gerry and Leslie had the stronger connection going into the final dates, and Gerry even made it seem to Leslie like he was going to choose her. But after diving deeper with Theresa and exploring their compatibilities, Gerry told Leslie he wasn’t going to choose her in a tearful breakup. Gerry then proposed to Theresa and the pair got married on live TV during “The Golden Wedding” special, with all The Golden Bachelor season 1 alums in attendance.

Gerry and Theresa wed on January 4, 2024, but in a surprising turn of events, the pair announced they were seeking a divorce on April 23rd. They presented a loving and amicable front and cited that they couldn’t join their lives together and were living separately. Behind the scenes, Gerry’s lies, questionable relationship behavior, and tension over Theresa wanting a prenup were allegedly the root cause of their split. Now that Gerry and Theresa are single, and The Golden Bachelorette isn’t slated until the Fall, there are other reality shows that can help fill the void of those fans missing The Golden Bachelor.

The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On

There Is Also A Very Popular Spinoff

Netflix’s The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On has three seasons out, and is hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey. The show takes couples who are at a crossroads in their relationships and presents them with the question of whether they want to get engaged, break up, or be with someone else from the experiment. The show follows four to six couples, where one person in the partnership is presenting the ultimatum.

They date the other couples’ partners for one week, then choose who they want to have a trial marriage with, separate from their original partners, and live with their new partner choices for three weeks. After that, the original couples come back together for a few weeks before The Ultimatum question is finally asked. There is an exciting LGBTQ+ spinoff, The Ultimatum: Queer Love, that had a wildly successful first season and which fans are anticipating. The Ultimatum: South Africa season 1 will also be premiering on May 10, 2024.

Love Is Blind Is Going Global

Love Is Blind is another sensational Netflix show that has gone viral since its premiere season in February 2020. The show aims to answer the age-old question of whether love is truly blind. 15 men and 15 women go on dates and can only get to know each other from behind a wall. They are implored not to reveal any information about the way they look or provide any outside factors that may sway the person they are dating. Love Is Blind season 6 recently wrapped up, and it was arguably the best season yet. While it didn’t have a high success rate among the couples, it had high entertainment value.

Love is Blind has also expanded globally and has international spinoffs. Love Is Blind: Japan and Love Is Blind: Sweden each have one season out on Netflix. Love Is Blind: Brazil already has three seasons.

Married at First Sight is a fantastic franchise to dive into if you love romance reality TV shows. MAFS just finished airing its seventeenth season. While the success rate for the show is low, coming in at 18.75%, the couples that have been successfully matched have been a joy to watch and prove that well-matched individuals can make lasting couples. Out of 64 couples presented on the show, only 12 are still together. They were matched by a panel of “expert” therapists and matchmakers. Season 17 had a lot of unprecedented moments that made it a wild ride.

90 Day Fiancé

Several Franchise Shows Are Airing

The 90 Day Fiancé loves to keep fans on their toes by constantly airing seasons and coming up with new spinoffs. The OG show is accompanied by 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, and 90 Day Fiancé: Love In Paradise, as the five core shows of the franchise. Currently, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 8 airs new episodes on Sundays, and 90 Day Fiance: Love In Paradise season 4 airs on Monday nights. Love In Paradise season 4 is proving to be one of the most interesting seasons yet, with sperm donation, threesomes, and gender transitioning as the main topics of the season (via ET.) The amount of content in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise can be overwhelming but is a quality show fans never regret watching.

MILF Manor takes a group of self-proclaimed milfs, and puts them in a vacation house with a bunch of young men who are interested in dating other women – but there is a twist. The dating pool is actually the sons of the other milfs in the house. MILF Manor season 1 was a surprising success and showcased some big personalities, although there weren’t a lot of successful partnerships. MILF Manor season 2 (via TLC) could prove to be even more interesting if the trailer is any indication.

Love During Lockup Season 3 Is Airing

Love After Lockup is an unhinged WeTV reality dating show that showcases people who are in relationships with incarcerated inmates. The show follows the couples as the felon leaves prison to potentially start a life with their loves on the outside. There are six seasons Of Love After Lockup and two spinoffs: Life After Lockup and Love During Lockup.

The Golden Bachelor is much more tame in comparison.

Season 5 Is Currently Airing

Seeking Sister Wife has been a TLC hit and season 5 is currently halfway through. The show highlights couples or families interested in polygamy, and how the dating process is for them. There have been more failures than successes but the drama is entertaining and the families’ quests for additional love is real. There is also a spinoff, Seeking Brother Husband, which has one season available to stream on Discovery+.

A Spicy Show With An Interesting Premise

Temptation Island is a USA Network reality show that first aired for three seasons in 2001, before taking a hiatus until 2019. There are five current seasons of the dating/relationship show where host Mark L. Walberg helps guide the couples. The premise is to showcase four couples who are at an impasse in their relationship and talking about moving into the next step of their relationship. They separate and date a house full of singles who are there to also help the participants figure out if they want to stay in their relationships.

After The Golden Bachelor season 1 aired, The Bachelor 28 with lead Joey Graziadei premiered. There were some charismatic and notable cast members and entertaining drama in season 28, and Joey chose the woman he wanted to propose to. Currently, Below Deck season 11 is airing, and Below Deck Med season 9 ( via Bravo) will premiere on June 3, 2024.
