10 Most Glaring Flaws In Beloved Disney Cartoon Movies That Were Never Fixed

10 Most Glaring Flaws In Beloved Disney Cartoon Movies That Were Never Fixed

Disney is absolutely loaded with phenomenal animated films. Since the 1930s, the studio has been responsible for some of the most beloved cartoon features ever to grace a screen. With that in mind, no one, not even the magic of Disney, is without fault.

While they are no doubt responsible for some of the world’s most beloved films and shows, the studio has released many of its films with glaring mistakes and plot holes that did not go unnoticed.

The Pixar Eyes

10 Most Glaring Flaws In Beloved Disney Cartoon Movies That Were Never Fixed

This one is a tad more forgivable than many things on this list, but it’s still one of those things that once seen cannot be unseen.

In the original Toy Story, due to the primitive technology at the time, Pixar animators could only make their characters blink one eye at a time. Upon closer observation of the film, it happens very slowly but is still noticeable to an attentive viewer.

Wall-E Doesn’t Get Rid of Trash

Wall-E’s primary directive is to recycle and clean up the trash of an over-polluted Earth. But what some people don’t realize, possibly Pixar, is that Wall-E doesn’t recycle the trash, he just reshapes it.

Think about it, he compacts the trash into cubes and organizes them into neat little piles. The trash is still on Earth, ergo the world is still polluted. What’s that phrase about the road of good intentions?

The Dwarves Are Loaded

The Seven Dwarfs in Snow White marching home

This is one question many Disney fans have probably had at some point, but it’s still one that never seems to leave. If the dwarves work in a mine (where a million diamonds shine), why are they all crammed into one house?

These guys are probably richer than the queen and yet they’re still slumming it in the forest? We know it was Walt’s first feature, but it still sticks out.

Tarzan Looks Too Clean

Tarzan 1999

This one might be more recently observed, but it’s still being talked about today. If Tarzan has grown up all his life in the jungle with the Apes, he should not by any logical means look as clean as he does.

If this were a real-world situation, Tarzan would probably be full caveman by the time Jane stumbles onto him. Chalk it up to a case of Disney Magic.

How are Timon and Pumbaa Unaffected by Scar’s Reign?

This one has a little more wiggle room than some, but it’s one many ’90s kids probably picked out. If Scar rules “everything the light touches” by the time he becomes king, are Timon and Pumbaa unaffected?

Viewers later see the pride lands fall into ruin under Scar’s leadership, and yet Timon and Pumbaa have their own jungle oasis. Do the laws of nature not apply here?

Scar Could Have Offed Simba in a Second

Scar standing by Simba after Mufasa's death on The Lion King

On the subject of Scar, there is one major mistake on the part of both the character and the story writer. After Mufasa’s death, Scar literally has his paw wrapped around Simba in a false attempt to comfort him.

One well-timed strike would have eliminated the only threat he had to the throne, but what does he do? Sics his cackling cronies on him and pays for it in the end. Probably not the smartest move in the guy’s career.

Wired for Halloween

Similar to Pixar’s eye problem this is one of those things when once seen cannot be unseen. Stop motion animation has never been the easiest of art forms, and not all the bugs are going to be caught at first glance.

That being said, if the viewer looks closely at the opening of “This Is Halloween” inThe Nightmare Before Christmas, they can see the wires that make the bats fly at the screen.

Magic is Logically Better Than Electricity

Pixar Onward World in the past

In defense of the film, the comparison of magic and modern comforts is essentially used to illustrate the right way and the easy way of doing things, a lesson many viewers need to learn.

That being said, if magic does, in fact, exist in this world, why on earth would electricity be just a normal and preferable source? If Disney and fantasy novels have taught anything, it’s that magic is always more powerful.

Stitch Causes All the Problems

Lilo and Stitch in a hammock

This is one many fans don’t consider simply because they’re blinded by Stitch’s cuteness, but it’s still a glaring flaw. Stitch is single-handedly responsible for everything that goes wrong in the film.

Every problem, every conflict, every time something goes wrong, it’s at this little monster’s paws. He might redeem himself in the end, but Nani and Lilo might have been safer without him. Need proof? Rewatch the film.

Elsa Can Create Life… And Everyone’s Cool With It

Disney Frozen Josh Gad as Olaf

What exactly are the limits to Elsa’s ice powers? Sure, she can make a snowman, a dress, and later an ice castle, but what about bestowing life to both Olaf, Marshmallow, and the little snow minions that come to life in Frozen Fever?

Does this mean she’s some sort of ice goddess able to create life from nothingness? Answer this one, Disney.
