10 Meals Actually Worth Ordering In Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

10 Meals Actually Worth Ordering In Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Food plays an important role in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It’s Ichiban and his adventuring party’s primary mode of healing, with different dishes restoring different amounts of HP and MP. Food typically comes from one of three sources: it’s purchased as take-out from fast food windows and convenience stores, cooked up fresh at a bar, or ordered for table service at a restaurant. Of the three, restaurant food is the most varied, effective, and beneficial, as it comes with special bonuses. Particular combinations of courses, called Combo Meals, might provoke extra buffs or unique dialogue scenes with Ichiban’s companions.

There are a total of 57 restaurants in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth spread out across all three maps. Each restaurant focuses on a particular stat benefit, boosting things like attack, defense, or item drop rates. Players don’t know what the right combos are until they’ve discovered them – their only hint comes from the combo’s nickname. However, there are other considerations when looking at the menu: price is an ever-present factor, as is healing — though the buffs provided can help people get to new game plus faster. These are some of the best dine-in meals to enjoy in Infinite Wealth.

If a player wants to boost their party’s attack power, plain and simple, they need look no further than Shinobi Sushi in Honolulu. Delivering a medium-sized attack bonus to the entire party, the Pipin’ Hot Peace combo pairs big benefits with a reasonable price. The name is a big hint: at a sushi restaurant, what kind of dishes are usually served hot?

It can only be soup, and players will need to order both of the soups on Shinobi’s menu to take advantage of the Pipin’ Hot Peace combo. Those are kitsune udon, a hearty dashi soup with thick noodles and fried tofu, and osuimono, a clear, light broth often eaten as a digestif. Together, they’ll only cost the party $14.

9 Nuts For Coconuts Helps With Grinding

At 53 By The Sea In Honolulu

Most food benefits in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth are temporary. The XP bonuses provided by the meal combos at 53 By The Sea are no exception, but they can help in gaining a permanent boost: eat a nice dinner, then go out and grind, and the party will find themselves leveling up at a much faster rate. This can be ideal for preparing to level up one of Infinite Wealth‘s many jobs.

53 By The Sea serves fresh seafood in a refined atmosphere with a stunning view – but it doesn’t come cheap. The Nuts for Coconuts combo is the most cost-effective way to still reap the benefits of its XP-boosting meals. It consists of two coconut-heavy dishes: shrimp ceviche and a slice of haupia-pineapple crêpe cake, which comes to a total of $35.

8 Heart Of A Child Increases Item Drop Rate

At Boogie Woogie Steak House In Honolulu

All the combos at Boogie Woogie Steak House increase the rate at which enemies drop items, which can help both in collecting crafting components and in increasing the likelihood of rare finds. But Boogie Woogie’s 16-ounce top sirloins and fine red wines can quickly run up a pricey bill. It’s possible to cut costs and still experience the benefits of a combo by ordering off the kids’ menu.

The Heart of a Child combo consists of a Kids’ Plate – two pieces of tempura shrimp, a hamburger patty, fried rice, and mixed fruit and veg – and an ice-cold glass of orange mango juice. Don’t worry, they won’t ask Ichiban for proof of age when he orders it.

7 Back To The Grind Increases Money Gained

At Café Soramame In Honolulu

Run by comedian-turned-barista Mameoka, Honolulu’s Café Soramame is one of the coziest coffee shops for a quick bite. It’s tied to a substory, “Rise and Grind,” in which Ichiban helps the disgraced funnyman dodge overzealous fans. It also offers unique benefits by increasing the amount of money dropped by random encounters.

Polaris is a mid-priced gastropub in Downtown Honolulu, featuring a selection of beers, wines, and cocktails alongside a host of shareable, home-style fare. Its combo meals raise the party’s defense, which can be an excellent boon to have before one of Infinite Wealth‘s most difficult boss fights.

The Be Spicy! combo includes two of its most piquant pickings: nachos and lamb chops. This hearty helping should fill the party up for just over $25, and is the cheapest way to enjoy defense-boosting benefits.

5 For Starters! Offers The Best Evasion Boost

At Yoronotaki In Yokohama

Alongside a variety of sashimi platters, Yoronotaki offers a wide variety of small plates. It’s these appetizers that are at the center of its For Starters! combo meal, which offers the best Evasion boost among all the restaurants in Yokohama. For Starters! consists of three menu items: edamame, fried chicken thighs, and a draft beer. It may not restore too much HP, but for only ¥1,287, it’s an excellent way to improve the party’s chances of avoiding attacks.

4 Seasonal Delight Offers A Powerful Attack Boost

If Ichiban needs some extra strength on his home turf of Yokohama, his best bet is the upscale kaiseki restaurant Kappo Katsumi. It’s the only spot in Isezaki Ijincho to offer a full attack power boost, but it’ll cost the party dearly. The cheapest way to gain the combo bonus is to order the Seasonal Delight: matsutake rice and the seasonal stewed dish. It’ll still cost ¥6,980, but the extra attack power is more than worth it.

3 The Perfect Duo Is Magically Delicious

At Gindaco Highball Tavern In Yokohama & Kamurocho

Gindaco is a real-life chain of fast-casual Japanese restaurants, with locations throughout Japan, Indonesia, and California. Its specialty is takoyaki – crispy-outside, gooey-inside balls of fried dough, filled with chunks of octopus and usually slathered in mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and seaweed. Gindaco has two locations in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth: one in Isezaki Ijincho, and the series staple one that’s always sat at the corner of Kamurocho’s Taihei Boulevard and Tenkaichi Street.

While the party can’t go wrong with anything at Gindaco, its so-called Perfect Duo offers a high-powered magic boost at a low cost. It consists of salty, savory, Absolutely Tasty Takoyaki, alongside a refreshingly carbonated highball. It may not be enough to fully heal a higher-level party, but it only costs ¥701 for a big bonus to magic attack power.

2 Bloated And Gloating Grants Tokyo’s Best Attack Boost

At Kanrai In Kamurocho

Like Gindaco, Kanrai has a long history with the Yakuza series. It’s a yakiniku restaurant, dishing out high-end meats to be cooked fresh at a grill in the middle of the table. It has the prices to match, but the party will never leave hungry, especially if they go for the Bloated and Gloating combo. Ordering the Grade-A harami and spicy beef soup ensures that they’ll leave with the biggest attack bonus available in Tokyo. Altogether, it costs ¥4050, and should be enough to heal the party fully.

1 Ravenous For Ramen Rakes In The Money

At Kyushu No. 1 Star In Kamurocho

A chef stands tall next to the counter at Kyushu No. 1 Star ramen in a screenshot from the Yakuza series.

Another regularly recurring restaurant in the Yakuza series is Kyushu No. 1 Star, a laid-back ramen counter with a storied past. It specializes in Kyushu-style ramen, which features a thick, flavorful broth of long-simmered pork bones and collagen. In Infinite Wealth, its combos raise the amount of money gained from battle.

To reap the full benefits, don’t skip the accoutrements: the Ravenous for Ramen combo includes a bowl of Kyushu tonkotsu ramen, a side of fried rice, and a plate of gyoza. It should fill the party up for just ¥1,600, and with the cash reward boost, it’ll pay for itself before long.

Those are some of the strongest meal combo bonuses in Infinite Wealth, but they’re far from all the ones available. Each restaurant has at least two, and with 57 restaurants to try, there are over a hundred combos to experiment with. A skint party might opt for a smaller bonus at a lower price, while a starving party might forgo a bonus altogether for a more filling meal. As long as they try new things, find local favorites, and eat regularly, food will never fail the party in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
