10 MCU Characters We’d Like To See In Moon Knight

10 MCU Characters We’d Like To See In Moon Knight

The official trailer for Moon Knight debuted recently, giving audiences their first proper glimpse at Oscar Isaac’s titular character. Moon Knight isn’t one of Marvel’s most mainstream titles, but the show promises to deliver on the action, humor, and worldbuilding, the three key aspects that make most MCU properties succeed.

It’s still unclear how Moon Knight will relate to the MCU’s other properties, but multiple characters could show up in the series and help bring him into the ever-expanding universe. And out of all the numerous possibilities, a few options make the most sense, making them instant fan-favorites.

Nick Fury

10 MCU Characters We’d Like To See In Moon Knight

It seems like only yesterday that Nick Fury was popping by every Marvel project to talk about “the Avengers initiative.” Indeed, some of the most important post-credit scenes in the MCU had Fury front and center. Nowadays, the character is off-world and plotting his next move, but he’ll return in a grand way leading his own Disney+ show, Secret Invasion.

However, before the invasion, Fury can make a cameo in Moon Knight. After all, he has eyes and ears everywhere, and the presence of yet another vigilante could warrant his intervention. Fury could use an agent like Moon Knight, and while it’s unlikely the Fist of Khonshu would accept his offer, the legendary spy could still give it a shot.

Agatha Harkness

One of WandaVision‘s most pleasant surprises was Agatha Harkness. Played by the hilarious Kathryn Hahn, Harkness is a frenemy to Wanda, who ends the limited series trapped under her Agnes persona in the town of Westview.

The recent announcement of an Agatha-centric spin-off made it clear that the character will play a major role in the MCU going forward. Before she leads her own project, Agatha could appear in other Disney+ series, and Moon Knight would be the perfect choice. Agatha’s expertise in supernatural affairs would make her a valuable ally to Mark, and her flexible morals would go well with Moon Knight’s unconventional methods.

Werewolf By Night

Gael García Bernal will make his MCU debut as Werewolf by Night, although it’s unclear which of the character’s two versions he’ll play. Werewolf by Night is one of Marvel’s most obscure characters, a lycanthrope with all the powers and abilities audiences expect from a werewolf.

Werewolf by Night will debut with a Halloween special, hinting at the horror elements of his story. For its part, Moon Knight also seems to include several dark themes, bridging these two misunderstood characters, and Moon Knight could provide a perfect platform to introduce Werewolf by Night before his Halloween special airs.

Dane Whitman

Eternals introduced Dane Whitman, played by Game of Thrones alumn Kit Harington. Whitman acts as the Black Knight in the source material, wielding one of Marvel Comics’ most powerful, the Ebony Blade. Although his intervention in Eternals is minimal, the post-credit scene hints at a promising future for the character.

Whitman will seemingly team up with Blade going forward, and a supernatural alliance of that kind would benefit from someone like Moon Knight. Whitman could act as the kinder and more approachable face of the team, which might explain why he and not Blade would try to recruit Moon Knight.

James Rhodes

James “Rhodey” Rhodes has been a crucial MCU player since the very first entry in the sprawling universe, 2008’s Iron Man. Now, fourteen years later, he’s ready to take center stage, leading his own series based on the memorable comic book storyline, Armor Wars.

Moon Knight and Rhodes share considerable time in the comics as members of the West Coast Avengers. They aren’t exactly friends, but they do have an established connection that Moon Knight could use to tie the titular character into the larger MCU. Spector’s previous mercenary activities could easily explain why these two know each other and establish their relationship going forward.

White Vision

The White Vision in WandaVision

Poor Vision has one of the most chaotic storylines in the MCU. The character, first introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, is seemingly dead, but his clone, White Vision, is out and about in the MCU. White Vision has all of Vision’s memories, but it’s still unclear when and where he’ll appear next.

White Vision is very powerful in the comics, so the MCU will surely bring him back. Moon Knight and Vision share a somewhat close working relationship in the source material thanks to their time in the West Coast Avengers. Perhaps, Moon Knight could set up this team by bringing Marc and Vision together, two loners who could find solace in each other.

Scarlet Witch

After WandaVision, Wanda Maximoff became one of the most relevant players in Phase 4. Her increasing instability and place as the legendary Scarlet Witch make her a key player in the multiversal landscape. Wanda’s overwhelming powers make her a considerable threat and a potential enemy of multiple superheroes.

Wanda’s ancient powers could tie her to Khonshu and other mythical figures. The Darkhold, one of Marvel’s most powerful and dangerous items, could also come into play. Wanda’s mental health issues could make her sympathetic to Marc’s struggles, and the two could bond over their shared experiences.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of the most anticipated movies of 2022, making Doctor Strange arguably the most popular Avenger in the MCU. The former Sorcerer Supreme recently appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, reminding audiences of his importance to the larger MCU.

Strange is a logical fit with Moon Knight’s universe. He could provide some much-needed answers about Khonshu, assuming the sorcerers at Kamar Taj are aware of the Egyptian God’s existence. Furthermore, Strange could also help Marc discover more about his bond with Khonshu and even improve the notoriously complex relationship between them.

The Thunderbolts

Moon Knight has had some run-ins with the Thunderbolts throughout his comic book history, most memorably during the Registration Act era of Marvel. Marc had retired from his Moon Knight duties, but after the Thunderbolts attacked his close friend Frenchie, he returned to being the Fist of Khonshu.

The Thunderbolts have yet to debut in the MCU, but the seeds are there. With characters like Yelena Belova, John Walker, and Baron Zemo already prominent figures in the larger MCU, it’s only a matter of time before they get together under a common goal, and that could very well be bringing down Moon Knight — especially if his vigilantism gets him under the government’s radar.

Blade

Mahershala Ali as Blade in the MCU Phase 5

The ’90s already gave audiences a great and surprisingly quotable Blade trilogy. However, the vampire hunter will make his MCU debut in the near future, played by Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali. Blade already made a brief cameo at the end of Eternals, although only his voice was heard.

Considering Moon Knight’s mystical and somewhat dark vibe, what better character to pair him with than Blade? The supernatural elements in both storylines go well with each other, creating a distinctive paranormal corner in the MCU. Not only do both figures make sense, but their actors, Ali and Isaac, would bring out the best in each other.
