10 Hysterical Grimm Logic Memes Only True Fans Understand

Running for six seasons comprising a whopping 123 episodes, horror detective show Grimm follows the adventures of Nick Burkhardt, a detective with the ability to see mythological creatures called Wesen. With this as the subject, it’s understandable that the logic in Nick’s world is not what we’re used to. In fact, nothing in his world is what we’re used to.

From mythological creatures to names no one can pronounce (unless they happen to be German) and some surprisingly familiar-sounding stories, Nick’s cases lead us on a great and memeable adventures. Here we’ve pulled together the very best memes that showcase some of the hilarious logic and events in the life of our favorite Grimm.

Grimm Isn’t Mainstream

Based on The Brother’s Grimm’s fairytales, Grimm chooses to use German names for all the Wesen. Even the name Wesen itself is German, meaning a creature or being.

Many of the Wesen are recognizable as mythological characters you’ve heard of, such as Blutbaden, which is a werewolf, or creatures which link somehow to Grimm’s Fairytales. However, none of them have easy to pronounce names or even names you’ve heard before. Grimm is far too sophisticated for that.

The translations are great though and fans should look them up as some are fascinating, for instance, Bludbadt, which is a werewolf, translates as “blood bath.”

Good Show, Bad Hair

We all love Nick but his hair really does leave a lot to be desired. All throughout the show, he gets stronger, smarter and better at understanding Wesen. However, he does not get a better haircut, not even towards the end of the show.

There are definitely far more homicides than good haircuts in Grimm with many other lesser-seen characters sporting equally dull or downright terrible dos. We’d say they didn’t age well but we’re pretty sure they were still outdated back in 2011 as well.

We All Love Monroe

While we aren’t a fan of the cast’s haircuts we are a fan of the cast and common favorite is the lovable Monroe. A vegetarian Blutbad, he is sensitive, caring and deeply loves music and his job repairing clocks.

We encourage anyone who hasn’t yet seen the show to follow this meme’s advice. We all love Monroe, you should as well, even if you don’t know who he is yet. He’s lovable enough that this image should be enough.

Nick’s Playroom

This meme compares the “playroom” in 50 Shades of Grey with Nick’s epic caravan in Grimm. Bequeathed to him by his late aunt, the caravan is home to knowledge and vast amounts of weaponry. Far more than Christian Grey has seen in his life.

Inside it, generations of Grimm’s have collected items that help them hunt, locate and dispatch Wesen. This means an array of weaponry dating back generations, alongside writings about the different types of Wesen encountered along the way.

Good Friends Help Hide The Bodies

Monroe becomes a good friend to Nick as the season’s progress and in many cases, he’s the type of friend everyone needs.

In Nick’s line of work both as a cop and as a Grimm, he often ends up with some blood on his hands. While he tries to see the best in the Wesen he encounters some are simply too dangerous to let live. This is where Monroe comes in.

His friendship is such that Nick can call him up and he will come and help hide the bodies, assuming he’s not already there with a shovel in his hand that is.

This All Sounds A Little Familiar

Do you recognize this story? Like many cases Nick sees in the town, this one is sounding a little too familiar. Gingerbread houses and breadcrumbs really do lead to exactly the kind of story you’d expect to find in a book.

A common theme, this meme points out the fact that these cases are often fairytale-like because in a Grimm’s world fairytales really do come true and they aren’t the glossed over Disney versions. Despite some artistic license being taken, the stories are much more faithful to the original and dark endings of the classic tales.

Remember To Wear Pants

Monroe is a loner and many of us can relate to him. This meme showing that he knows he needs to remember to be cool and wear pants when meeting new people is really relatable.

For those of us who love to lounge around at home in comfortable clothes that don’t always involve pants this is a hard relate. Also, another reason why we love Monroe. He gets it.

Bi*ch Please

Renard is a complex and intriguing character. He is half Zauberbiest and half Prince, although it takes us a while to discover this. Originally seen as the chief of police Renard is strong, smug and vain and this meme sums him up perfectly.

It takes a lot to get this Prince down so don’t think for a second he’s going lightly. He’s cunning, manipulative and every inch his half warlock side.

Ring-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding

This meme is crossing the foxlike Rosalee, Monroe’s eventual wife, with popular 2013 song “What does the fox say?”

Rosalee is a Fuchsbau, a very calm foxlike Wesen. She is gentle and soft in nature and if you really want to know what she’s likely to say it probably involves her telling Monroe to calm down. Either that or she needs someone to pass her some random ingredient for a remedy she’s brewing up.

What did you say?

This meme of hexenbiest Adalind Schade shows just how quickly she can turn nasty. It showcases both her usual appearance and her Wesen appearance. The speed at which she can move from soft to aggressive is the same as the fandom leaping to the show’s defense.

Grimm may have finished but it lives on in the hearts of all its fans. We will never forget the adventures of Nick Burkhardt, Hank Griffin, Monroe, Rosalee, and the gang. If you need us we’ll be watching reruns.
