10 Great Shows To Watch If You Like Darcey & Stacey

10 Great Shows To Watch If You Like Darcey & Stacey

Darcey Silva, one-half of the main cast of Darcey & Stacey, recently made headlines this week for an Instagram video that has fans speculating over whether the reality star has altered the appearance of her lips. It’s nothing new for Darcey, who is open about her addiction to plastic surgery, but it did have fans wondering how far Darcey and her sister will go.

The sisters’ addiction to plastic surgery is slightly covered on their reality television show Darcey & Stacey. The TLC reality series is a spin-off of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days and follows the sisters as they try to find love and happiness in their own lives. Like all TLC shows, the series is full of drama and laughs and makes for an entertaining hour of television. While there’s only three seasons so far, there are a plethora of other reality shows that offer the same kind of storylines and big personalities as Darcey & Stacey.

Dating Around (2019-2020)

10 Great Shows To Watch If You Like Darcey & Stacey

After seeing the success of reality dating shows, Netflix joined the game with the release of Dating Around in 2019 marking the streaming services’ first original dating series. The show debuted with a six-episode season with each episode following one hopefully single as they went on five blind dates in the hopes of finding the one.

While Darcey and Stacey are in relationships for most of the show’s three seasons, they do go through their fair share of heartbreaks and awkward dates which is what makes Dating Around such a good comp for the reality series.

Extreme Sisters (2021-)TLC's Extreme Sisters promo banner

Extreme Sisters is one of TLC’s original streaming series that aired on the streaming service TLC Go. The reality series followed three sets of sisters who take co-dependency to a whole other level.

Had Darcey and Stacey not landed their own reality show, fans are certain that the twins would have landed a cast member spot on Extreme Sisters. Their sibling relationship is very much like the ones explored in Extreme Sisters since none of the women in these shows seem to want to live an independent life away from their siblings.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians (2007-2021)Keeping Up With The Kardashians

While Keeping up with the Kardashians has changed a lot over its impressive run, the earlier seasons are some of the best reality TV of all time. The family reality series followed the Kardashian-Jenner family as they dealt with the ups and downs of everyday life mixed with their growing fame and professional careers.

Like Darcey & Stacey, Keeping up with the Kardashians really focused on the sibling bond between the three Kardashian sisters. Both shows also make it a point to include the women’s extended families including kids, parents, and significant others which helps make both shows more entertaining.

Loren & Alexei: After the 90 Days (2022-)Loren & Alexei laying in bed together in After the 90 Days

After appearing on 90 Day Fiancé and becoming fan favorites thanks to their appearances on 90 Day Fiancé: Pillowtalk, Loren & Alexei landed their own mini spin-off in 2022 titled Loren & Alexei: After the 90 Days. The 9-episode season followed the couple as they prepared their home for the addition of their second child while planning a last-minute trip to Israel and parenting their firstborn child.

The biggest thing this show and Darcey & Stacey have in common is that they both hail from the 90 Day Fiancéfranchise – though they never appeared on the show together. Both shows also explore the pressures of having long-distance relationships.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life (2015-)This is a picture of Whitney Way Thore from TLC's 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' dancing in front of a pink and blue background.

My Big Fat Fabulous Life follows Whitney Thore, a young woman who is living her best life while managing her polycystic ovarian syndrome diagnosis which has caused her to gain weight over the years. Whitney embraces her body and is determined to show the world that she can do anything she sets her mind to, no matter her size.

Like Darcey & Stacey, Whitney is a stubborn and determined woman who deals with obstacles in her dating and family life. In the most recent season, Whitney begins dating a man from France which brings about a new connection between her reality show and Darcey & Stacey.

sMothered (2019-)sMothered promo poster

Before TLC explored the phenomenon of co-dependent siblings, the cable network launched an entire show about the co-dependency between mothers and daughters called sMothered. The reality series follows four pairs of mother/daughters who often live together and do just about everything together. The new season of the show will introduce three new duos including the show’s first mother and trans-daughter duo.

While Darcey and Stacey might not be in a smothering kind of relationship with their mother, Nancy; they are extremely close with her. Like the mother-daughter duos on sMothered the twins and Nancy can be seen having tons of untraditional fun together.

The Family Chantel (2019-)The Family Chantel promo poster

The Family Chantel marked the first ever spin-off series of the 90 Day Fiancé that centered on one specific couple. The series follows Chantel and Pedro, a newlywed couple who continue to struggle with their intercultural marriage because neither of their families are too fond of each other.

Like Darcey & Stacey, The Family Chantel really dives deep into the complications that arise from intercultural relationships and how they can affect one’s entire family. Both shows are also full of drama which is no surprise since they both hail from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise which thrives on drama. They also feature larger casts than some reality shows, meaning the main cast of The Family Chantel ranges in likability.

The Real Housewives Of Orange Country (2006-)

While all The Real Housewives shows would be a great comp to Darcey & Stacey, the one most fitting is the original: The Real Housewives of Orange County. Now in its 16th season, the series follows six socialite OC woman as they deal with family, love, and professional problems while trying to have fun together.

Like the women on RHOC, Darcey and Stacey love the luxurious life. They’re always on the prowl for the latest fashions and absolutely love plastic surgery which is a hot topic on RHOC, especially since Heather Dubrow is married to one of the best plastic surgeons in Orange County. If the Silva twins ever moved to OC, they’d surely have a place on the RHOC cast.

90 Day Fiance (2014-)90 Day Fiance logo over a red background

90 Day Fiance premiered back in 2014 and turned out to be an overnight sensation for TLC, becoming one of the best TLC shows of all time. The hour-long reality show follows different couples as they deal with long-distance relationships that ultimately culminate with one-half of the pairing traveling to the United States on a K1 visa that requires them to get married after 90 days.

Since Darcey appeared on one of the 90 Day Fiancéfranchise spin-offs, it only seems fitting that the show be a comp for Darcey & Stacey. And since Stacey is still dating a man from another country, it’s thematically fitting as well as both shows continue to show the difficulties that arise with long-distance relationships of that kind.

90 Day: The Single Life (2021-)

One of the newest 90 Day Fiancé spin-offs is 90 Day: The Single Life. The show features a cast of previously unsuccessful 90 Day cast members who are once again searching for their happily ever afters. While some cast members opt to find love within their state borders, some continue to cast a wide next, searching outside the country.

Like Darcey & Stacey, 90 Day: The Single Life is all about learning to love oneself while also finding the romantic love everyone dreams about. Both shows feature drama and heartfelt moments in addition to awkward dates and hard-hitting conversations about the future.
