10 Din Djarin Questions The Mandalorian Still Has To Answer In Its New Movie (Or Season 4)

10 Din Djarin Questions The Mandalorian Still Has To Answer In Its New Movie (Or Season 4)

These 10 Din Djarin questions need to be answered in either The Mandalorian season 4 or The Mandalorian & Grogu. The Mandalorian has become Star Wars’ highest-grossing TV show, and for good reason. Its unique story and focus on the heartwarming father-son bond between Din Djarin and Grogu make it compelling. As such, when it was announced that The Mandalorian & Grogu movie would be Star Wars’ next movie, it was thrilling – but there are still many questions left to be answered, particularly about the story’s protagonist.

Din Djarin has become one of Star Wars’ most popular characters. Pedro Pascal’s fantastic performance combined with excellent writing makes Din Djarin a standout in the Star Wars universe. At the beginning of The Mandalorian season 1, very little was known about him. As a member of the Children of the Watch, Din Djarin was very secretive and protective of his identity. Over time, however, more of his backstory and character motivations have been revealed. With The Mandalorian & Grogu and, potentially, The Mandalorian season 4 on the way, Star Wars has the opportunity to delve deeper into Din Djarin’s story.

The Mandalorian: Din Djarin’s Full Timeline, Backstory, & Star Wars Future Explained

The Mandalorian’s Din Djarin has quickly become one of Star Wars’ most iconic characters. Here’s his full timeline, backstory, and future explained.

10 Why Was Din Djarin’s Homeworld Attacked?

Aq Vetina was attacked after the Clone Wars

The Mandalorian season 1 showed that Separatist battle droids attacked Din Djarin’s homeworld of Aq Vetina, causing his lifelong hatred of droids. This means that Aq Vetina was destroyed during, or perhaps even just after, the Clone Wars. Why it was attacked, however, is still a mystery. Given how important this moment was in Din Djarin’s life, The Mandalorian must answer this question in either season 4 or its movie.

9 How, & When, Did Din Djarin’s Tribe Become The Children Of The Watch?

The Children of the Watch may be relatively new

Paz Vizsla and other members of the Children of the Watch in The Mandalorian season 3 episode 1.

In The Mandalorian season 3, episode 7 “Chapter 23: The Spies,” when asked if the Children of the Watch are part of Death Watch, the Armorer replies that “Death Watch exists no longer.” She then explains that Death Watch collapsed and fractured after the Clone Wars. This suggests that the Children of the Watch are a relatively new group. However, exactly when and why Death Watch fractured and what groups it broke into hasn’t been revealed.

8 Who Was Din Djarin’s Mentor (& What Happened To Them)?

Din Djarin’s mentor has only appeared once

In The Mandalorian season 1, it was revealed that Din Djarin was a foundling. In a heartbreaking flashback, a young Din Djarin is rescued by an armor-clad Mandalorian after his parents are killed by a battle droid. Seeing as the Armorer referenced Din having a mentor in The Mandalorian season 3 ending, this is presumably who raised Din Djarin. However, apart from this brief flashback, nothing is known about this person. Further, they do not appear to be around at the time of the show. Given the impact they had on Din Djarin, The Mandalorian should answer this question.

7 What Did Din Djarin Do On Alzoc III?

A mercenary implied Din Djarin did something bad on Alzoc III

Din Djarin and Xi'an in The Mandalorian season 1 episode 6

In The Mandalorian season 1, episode 6 “Chapter 6: The Prisoner,” the Twi’lek mercenary and member of Ranzar “Ran” Malk’s Gang Xi’an mentions a job she did with Din Djarin on Alzoc III. All Din Djarin says in response is, I did what I had to do,” to which she replies, “Oh, but you liked it.” However, this job has never been explained. The way Xi’an said it suggested that it was important to Din Djarin’s character. As such, The Mandalorian should address it in either The Mandalorian & Grogu or season 4.

6 What Did Din Djarin Do To Ranzar Malk’s Gang?

Ranzar Malk’s gang doesn’t trust Din Djarin even though they worked together

Ranzar Malk, Qin, and Din Djarin fake their goodbyes and offer Din his credits at The Roost in The Mandalorian season 1, episode 6

In The Mandalorian season 1, it’s revealed that Din Djarin used to work with Ran’s gang. He did a number of jobs with them, including the aforementioned Alzoc III incident. However, by the time of The Mandalorian, Din Djarin and Ran’s group are on the outs. It becomes abundantly clear that they feel betrayed by Din Djarin and do not trust him. However, what happened between them is never revealed.

5 When Exactly Did Din Djarin Start Bounty Hunting?

It’s never been stated how long Din Djarin has been a bounty hunter

When Din Djarin first began bounty hunting – and thus how long he’s been a bounty hunter – has never been explained. Given his reputation and expertise, he’s likely been a bounty hunter for a while. The Mandalorian has the opportunity to give more background on when, why, and how Din Djarin chose bounty hunting as his profession in its upcoming movie and season 4.

4 How Did Din Djarin Get His Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster Rifle?

It’s the first live-action Amban phase-pulse blaster rifle in Star Wars

Din Djarin wields his pulse rifle alongside Grogu in The Mandalorian season 2

Amban phase-pulse blaster rifles are, presumably, hard to come by. While the design traces back to Boba Fett’s weapon in his animated segment of The Star Wars Holiday Special, its first appearance was as Din Djarin’s signature weapon in The Mandalorian. It is an extremely powerful weapon, capable of everything from delivering a paralyzing shock to its victims to completely disintegrating them. How Din Djarin acquired it, however, has never been explained.

The Mandalorian season 1, episode 1 “Chapter 1: The Mandalorian”

Din Djarin was a Mandalorian by the time of the Purge of Mandalore and the Night of a Thousand Tears. Moff Gideon knew Din Djarin’s name from the registers of Mandalore. Clearly, he was prominent enough for Moff Gideon to memorize or, at the very least, look up his name. Yet, what exactly he did during the Purge – whether he ran or fought – has never been mentioned.

2 Will The Empire Do Anything With Din Djarin’s Facial Scan?

Din Djarin has caused the Imperial Remnant a lot of trouble & now they have his face

Din Djarin gets his face scanned on Morak in The Mandalorian season 2 episode 7

In The Mandalorian season 2, episode 7 “Chapter 15: The Believer,” Din Djarin breaks into an Imperial refinery to steal coordinates to find Moff Gideon, who has once again successfully captured Grogu. To get those coordinates, he has to remove his helmet and allow the terminal to scan his face. Given the fact that he rescued one of the Imperial Remnant’s most important assets, it seems odd that the facial scan hasn’t come up since. The Mandalorian & Grogu or The Mandalorian season 4 should show whether the Empire was able to gain anything useful from this scan.

1 When Did Din Djarin & The Children Of The Watch Establish Their Helmet Rule?

Most Mandalorians are allowed to remove their helmets

Death Watch, the group the Children of the Watch split off from, didn’t follow the same helmet rule. Yet, when he first saw Bo-Katan remove her helmet, Din Djarin was both shocked and distrustful. He even went so far as to accuse her of not being a Mandalorian and asked if her armor was stolen. Clearly, this rule was established long enough before Din Djarin became a foundling, as it was already integral to his religion. Yet, The Mandalorian hasn’t shown why or how this not only became a rule, but an excommunicable offense.
