10 Coolest Stardew Valley 1.6 Player Created House Designs

Stardew Valley is a cozy farming and life sim game that offers much more than just fishing and romancing villagers. When the main character is not working on their farm, they need a relaxing home to get away to and share with their growing family. Decorating this farmhouse can become a daunting task for some players, however, especially later in the game when there are numerous rooms to fill and not much direction given on what should be placed in them. Thankfully, many creative players have shared their designs online for others to draw inspiration from.

Despite the fact that many players have been working on their layouts of the farmhouses for years, they may be starting over with their designs again now. Recently, the massive patch 1.6 added numerous new decorative items to Stardew Valley with multiple furniture Catalogues with themed items as well as items that can be gained from a new festival to the game. Currently, update 1.6 is only available for PC users, but developer ConcernedApe is working on the console and mobile release as well.

Apothecary Room In The Farmhouse

Shared By Reddit User RylieSensei

Many players have discovered that several of the items that were added with patch 1.6 to Stardew Valley can be used in tandem to create magic-filled rooms perfect for concocting potions and brews. Reddit user RylieSensei did just this, with the design of this Apothecary Room that they added to the attic of their farmhouse. Complete with cats nestled into the corners, the room is a perfect haven for all the potion-making needs that a Wizard’s apprentice could require.

This design is crafted using many of the items from the new Wizard’s Catalogue that update 1.6 made available for purchase from Krobus, although it is still a rare item to find and quite expensive. Luckily, once the Catalogue is purchased, the items within are free to order.

Cozy Cottagecore Theme For A Stardew Valley Farmhouse

Shared By Elle Serein On YouTube

YouTuber Elle Serein shared a beautiful video showing the step-by-step process she took to create her cottagecore oasis in Stardew Valley for the kitchen and living room areas of their farmhouse. Featuring a lot of natural wood decor and plenty of plants and green colors, the entire area is a soothing and welcoming space that would be wonderful to see recreated in real life.

The bedroom is also seen to the right of the area that Elle Serein is working on, showing how the theme is carried into other areas of the home, with the comforting feeling that cottagecore style can provide. Cottagecore often references a lot of wood and natural elements, with plants and mushrooms and other such items. This design with wooden panels and plants perfectly captures the feeling.

Wizard & Junimo Catalogues Helped Make This Farmhouse

Shared By Reddit User Acidicgarlic27

Two of the new decoration Catalogues that were added to Stardew Valley with the update to 1.6 were the Wizard and Junimo Catalogues. These Catalogues include many brand-new household furnishings that Reddit user acidicgarlic27 combined to create this cozy and spectacular farmhouse in the game. These two themes at first don’t sound as though they would fit together, yet the book-heavy nature of the Wizard’s selection combined with the nature-filled variety of items in the Junimo Catalogue are in fact quite complimentary.

Filling this many rooms can sometimes be a challenge for players who don’t have much idea of what to place in each of the spaces. Acidicgarlic27 shows that with a little creativity, each room can be a wonderful space that is dedicated to different things that the character would find important to them.

This homestead looks like somewhere that people would really live, with a comfortable aesthetic and just the right amount of decorations without anything feeling cluttered or too busy. In particular, the downstairs room is perfectly done, looking like it would be a fun play room for kids or a cozy family space for anyone to enjoy.

Nature-Filled Junimo Farmhouse

Shared By Crystallized TV On YouTube

On YouTube there are many videos of players decorating and showing off farmhouse designs that they have made for Stardew Valley, but few are as creative and beautiful as CrystallizedTV’s variety of depictions, including this Junimo-themed farmhouse. The charming little Junimo creatures have long been something of a mascot for Stardew Valley, with many players falling in love with these helpful little critters. It seems only right then for a farmhouse to be decorated with them as a theme.

The nature-filled house uses many of the items found in the Junimo Catalogue that was added in patch 1.6. This Catalogue can be purchased from the Traveling Cart, although it comes at a steep initial price to buy it of 70,000 gold, and is a rare and random spawn in the store’s inventory.

Little Fishing Cabin

Shared By Reddit User Unpearl

One of the fun and relaxing jobs to do in Stardew Valley is fishing, and many players love to just relax and listen to music while catching virtual fish in the game. Reddit user unpearl appears to be one of them, as they have transformed their farmhouse into a rustic fishing cabin, complete with several large aquariums to house sea life that has been caught by the player. They have also included an image showing the outside of their fishing cabin, which is perfectly set for any fishers’ delight, with a variety of ponds and a dog in a fishing cap.

Among the cozy decorations in unpearl’s design is a door that is seen in the room to the far right. This decorative door is a sneaky item that adds a lot of character to the home, without leading anywhere. It is available in the Furniture Catalogue and acts as a wallhanging, being simply for decoration.

As was seen above with their Junimo inspired farmhouse design as well, YouTuber Crystallized TV has done several creative design ideas focusing on various themes and ideas, including many that relate specifically to some of the marriage candidates in Stardew Valley that coordinate with their spouse rooms. House & Shed Designed With Patch 1.6 Updates

Shared By Reddit User NotHeyNick

NotHeyNick on Reddit took advantage of many of Stardew Valley patch 1.6’s new items to put together this comfortable and cozy farmhouse. Some of these pieces were purchased through the new Catalogues that the update introduced, particularly with the wizarding themed room at the top of the layout. Others, such as the chicken decals, are found at the new Desert Festival.

They also were kind enough to share their shed layout, which can often be a source of frustration for some players who struggle to find a good way to organize the plethora of items and machines that are needed in the game. This layout is not only color coded and functional, but is also elegantly laid out with decorations matching the adjacent storage containers and beautiful examples on display to remind the player of what can be found in each chest.

Cozy British Countryside Cottage & Work Shed

Shared By Reddit User Particular-Mine-6812

When thinking of cozy design ideas, it is hard to beat the comforting feeling of a cozy British countryside cottage, which is exactly what Reddit user Particular-Mine-6812 aimed to capture here. Although there likely aren’t too many British cottages that include massive skeletons in their rooms, this Stardew Valley farmhouse is a charming mixture of warmth and eclectic comfort. Particularly in the three upper rooms, the style speaks of somewhere that would be perfect for relaxing with a book or farming simulator on a cold rainy day.

In addition to the farmhouse, they also shared images of a stunningly designed Work Shed, which includes some lovely Junimo helpers. The shed has different areas set aside for various activities, including a bubbling cauldron in front of an ominous fireplace. Whether looking to craft some tools or mix potions, this is the ideal spot to complete any task.

Finished Perfection Farm House

Shared By Reddit User LapisPines

Reddit user LapisPines drew inspiration from the many boards on Pinterest that offer design ideas for the farmhouse in Stardew Valley. After seeing some of the ideas that others shared there, they took the ideas and made them their own to create this beautiful example of a coordinated farmhouse layout. The matching design flows from room to room and offers cute and eye-catching areas in every corner of the home.

The most stunning feature of LapisPines’ homestead is perhaps the room on the top right, which has been transformed to become a Junimo-filled oasis garden. This home is a perfect example of the cozy and inviting farmhouses that can be designed in Stardew Valley.
