10 Coolest Palworld Technology Tree Unlocks Worth The Grind

10 Coolest Palworld Technology Tree Unlocks Worth The Grind

Unlocking items on Palworld‘s technology tree isn’t always easy, but sometimes, it’s worth the effort. The Technology tree is one of many ways players progress through Palworld. It consists of 50 tiers, each one containing four to six items that can be purchased with Technology Points. These are earned as a player character levels up, completes dungeons, and unlocks new fast travel points. Different Technologies have different unlock costs, which generally get steeper as they go up in rank. Some Technologies are unlocked by leveling up, while others have specific requirements like catching certain Pals.

Technologies range from the cosmetic to the practical, including everything from weapons to base workshops to Pal equipment. Even after it’s unlocked, though, Technologies require crafting. This may mean gathering tons of rare materials, which can be monotonous and take up a lot of time. While some Technologies aren’t worth all that work, others pay for themselves almost immediately. Here are ten of the most worthwhile unlockables on the Palworld Technology tree.

Palworld blends the survival and creature-collecting genre into a unique twist of a game, but how does it handle the staple of creature evolution?

10 The Mega Glider Makes Traversal Easier

Level 18

Three player characters gliding in a screenshot from Palworld. Two hang onto flying Pals, while one uses a Mega Glider.

One of the earlier Technologies Palworld players can unlock is the Mega Glider, which does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a wing-shaped device similar to Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom‘s paraglider, allowing players to ride the wind. It doesn’t allow for true flight – players can’t ascend, and will slowly drop in altitude the further they go. However, it can help in crossing large gaps quickly, making it easier to scout and explore far-off locations.

Some flying Pals can also help the player character glide by hanging onto them with their talons. However, these are high-level Pals and may take a while to catch. Until then, the Mega Glider works just as well, and doesn’t take up a slot in the party.

9 Pengullet’s Rocket Launcher Powers Up An Early-Game Pal

Level 17

One of the best early-game Pals a player can catch is Pengullet, a water- and frost-elemental penguin. Pengullet is pretty handy in a fight, and useful at camp with its ability to water plants and keep perishables cool. However, a certain Technology tree item can make a Pengullet even better: Pengullet’s Rocket Launcher, unlocked at level 17. Unlike most Pal weapons, which are equipped by the requisite Pals, this rocket launcher actually fires a Pengullet from its barrel. This immediately incapacitates the Pengullet, but does a lot of damage. It’s also just pure chaotic fun.

8 The Stun Baton Makes It Easier To Catch Pals

Level 22

A player character clutches a Stun Baton on a grassy cliff in a screenshot from Palworld.

It can be difficult to catch even low-level Pals. Players will need to bring their HP incredibly low before it’s even worth lobbing a Pal Sphere, and with the inability to control summoned Pals directly, it’s sometimes tough to stop them from killing wild Pals outright. Thankfully, this Technology makes that much easier. The Stun Baton increases the likelihood of catching a Pal when they’re hit. This can be used to remove the need for summoned Pals from certain fights, or just to get an extra boost in catching a powerful Pal.

7 The Giga Shield (Almost) Never Breaks

Shields are vital pieces of equipment in Palworld, but, like all equipment, they’re subject to degradation. Basic shields eventually break, but the Giga Shield solves this problem by regenerating its condition whenever it’s not taking damage. It’s not totally indestructible – if it takes a lot of damage over a short period of time, it’s liable to break eventually. However, with two Giga Shields in their inventory and the ability to switch between them quickly, a player will theoretically never need another shield.

6 The Paladius Saddle Lets Players Ride Around In Style

Level 49

Paladius, a Legendary Neutral-type Pal in Palworld, shown in the Paldeck.

It’s no secret that players can saddle up and ride Pals into battle in Palworld, but not every Pal makes for an equally trusty steed. One of the best mounts is the Legendary Paladius, something like a centaur wielding a sword and shield. It’s a powerful Pal in combat, but more importantly, its Partner Skill, Holy Knight of the Firmament, allows it to triple jump while mounted. This can help cross large gaps with ease. Paladius is also pretty handy when it comes to mining and logging.

5 The Weapon Assembly Line Automates Production

Level 32

Palworld Production Assembly Line with Pals working on rifles.

While adventuring with Pals is a big part of the Palworld experience, the importance of a well-organized base cannot be overstated. Pals can be assigned to a wide variety of jobs, and one of the most useful assignments is that of the Weapon Assembly Line. Unlocked at Technology level 32, this allows Pals to crank out a steady supply of arms, which the players on the front line can subsequently equip. Unlike the Weapon Workbench, the Assembly Line allows multiple Pals to work together, ensuring quick and easy production.

4 Grizzbolt’s Minigun Powers Up A Fan-Favorite Pal

Level 40

Grizzbolt has become something of a mascot for Palworld – its resemblance to a certain Pokémon, but with a more imposing stature, makes him a good representative of everything Palworld tries to be. Grizzbolt is a strong enough Pal on his own, but with Grizzbolt’s Minigun, it gets even better. Simply put, this Technology allows Grizzbolt to equip a huge machine gun while mounted. This makes Grizzbolt much more reliable offensively, not to mention a sight to behold.

3 The Legendary Sphere Helps Catch High-Level Pals

Level 44

Legendary Sphere in Palworld

There are six tiers of Pal-catching Spheres in Palworld. While any kind of Sphere can theoretically be used to catch any kind of Pal, it’s a little more difficult in practice. Each Sphere type has a stat called Capture Power, which is partially responsible for determining the likelihood of catching a Pal. The Legendary Sphere has a Capture Power of 37, the highest of any Sphere in the game. While it’s not strictly required for catching higher-level Pals, it’s the most reliable method.

2 The Sphere Assembly Line Automates Pal Recruitment

Level 27

How To Craft Every Pal Sphere In Palworld

And speaking of Pal Spheres, they’re likely the most used item in Palworld for good reason. Capture isn’t always successful, and particularly with high-level Pals, a player may waste several Spheres before one finally works, if it does at all. Going back to base every single time a player runs out of Pal Spheres is annoying and disruptive, but there’s a way to make it easier. Unlock a Sphere Assembly Line at Technology level 27, and the Pals will do all the work. It won’t save players the trip back, but it will save them the effort of crafting.

1 Jetragon’s Missile Launcher Is The Ultimate Pal Weapon

Level 50

The last item in the highest tier of the Technology tree, Jetragon’s Missile Launcher could be called a Pal trainer’s ultimate weapon. It’s not easy to come by, requiring capture of the Legendary Jetragon, five Technology points, and hundreds upon hundreds of materials. However, once it’s crafted, Jetragon’s Missile Launcher makes the player near-immortal. It brings modern warfare to Palpagos Island, allowing a player to mount their Jetragon, soar through the skies, and rain down homing missiles on people and Pals below. This is the most overpowered Pal ability in the game, and a worthy reward for reaching the endgame.

Ascending Palworld‘s Technology tree shouldn’t be a race to the finish line. It’s a slow grind upwards, with incremental upgrades and new features at every step. Players should prioritize whatever they need most at the moment, and save the best Technology until they can truly spare the materials. While these are some of the coolest Technology unlocks available in Palworld, they’re not the only useful ones.
