Gojo Vs. Sukuna Was Visually Stunning And Set The Tone For The Series

Chapter 2, episode 2

Even if it only lasted ten seconds, Gojo and Sukuna’s first fight in Jujutsu Kaisen was one of the most astonishing in the series and showed viewers that Gojo is not one to be messed with. He began battling the cursed spirit shortly after Yuji consumed one of Sukuna’s fingers, allowing the curse to use his body as a vessel. Cockily, Satoru quipped that he would “show off for his student,” referring to Megumi who was watching nearby.

Although Satoru’s most recent battle with the King of Curses did not end as favorably for him, this first battle was truly a sight to behold. The battle was Gojo’s first in the anime and revealed his lightning fast reflexes, strength, and the other abilities he had developed over years of experience honing his techniques. This encounter not only established his qualifications as a teacher and sorcerer, but revealed Yuji’s power over his own body, even with the King of Curses taking over, because he was able to quickly regain control. The scene is crucial for the character development of both characters, as well as entertaining in its own right.

Yuji and Todo Vs. Hanami Highlighted The Brotherly Pair’s Teamwork

Chapters 48-51, episodes 19-20

Although the pair are not actually brothers, Yuji and Todo share a special bond that seems to transcend friendship and more closely resemble a sibling relationship. During their initial meeting, Yuji and Todo fought, but their rivalry didn’t last long at all and the pair grew to become great friends and a nearly unbeatable team. The two moved in perfect sync with one another in their first battle together against Special Grade curse, Hanami.

Gojo did eventually have to step in and join the fight, but the pair held their own against a special grade phenomenally well. One of the most noteworthy moments of this battle is when Todo used his unique Boogie Woogie ability that lets him switch places with other people by utilizing clapping as a way to teleport. His hysterical personality, protection of “brother” Yuji, and impressive fighting style showcased in this battle represented Todo’s true personality flawlessly, causing him to eventually grow into a fan-favorite and one of the series’ most admired heroes.

Mechamaru/Kokichi Muta Vs. Mahito Had A Tragic Ending

Chapters 80-82, episodes 30-31

Mechamaru vs. Mahito unveiled how awful of a villain Mahito really was, revealing his willingness to use violent means of destruction to stop anyone who attempted to halt his evil plans. Although Kokichi gave the fight his all, Mahito’s intimidating Domain Expansion and nearly unbeatable Idle Transfiguration technique were too much for the hero to bear. Sadly, he passed away at that time, devastating his classmates, especially Miwa, who held a particular affection for him.

This fight was emotionally charged, since it resulted in the death of a beloved character. The clash is also visually stunning, with phenomenal animation that gives a glimpse into Mahito’s impressive purple-hued domain, Self-Embodiment of Perfection. The high stakes in this clash made the atmosphere incredibly tense, since Kokichi was one of the only sorcerers with a chance at stopping Mahito before he reached Shibuya and caused worse damage. Although he unfortunately did not survive, his efforts were helpful at weakening the cursed spirit, and this fight did an excellent job showcasing his talents one final time.

7
Choso Vs. Yuji Unveiled A Truly Jaw-Dropping Family Relationship

Chapters 101-105, episode 37

Choso Kamo and Yuji Itadori’s battle was one of the most surprising, due to the horrifying twist revealed at the end that shook Choso to the core. He was working with the other curses, Kenjaku, Hanami, and Jogo, to further his personal goal. He hoped to kill Yuji to avenge the deaths of his beloved brothers, so when he found him alone during the Shibuya arc, he took this opportunity as a chance to strike.

The most astounding and important facet of this fight was when Choso realized Yuji was another one of his brothers. This realization sent him spiraling and changed the trajectory of his journey, causing him to switch sides and turn his back on the evil curses he was previously fighting alongside. This fight is also noteworthy because it represented the first glimpse fans received of Choso’s remarkable Piercing Blood ability, as he used streams of hardened blood to strike his opponent. It was also Choso’s first one-on-one battle in the anime, finally putting the talented half-human, half-cursed spirit’s advanced Blood Manipulation to use.

Okkotsu Vs. Geto Revealed Emotional Moments At The End Of Geto’s Life

Chapter 0-4, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie

Yuta and the spirit who fights alongside him, Rika, were surprisingly able to take down the mighty Geto Suguru once and for all in the JJK 0 film. This was one of the most simultaneously beautiful and heartbreaking battles in Jujutsu Kaisen. Rika and Yuta’s unbreakable bond, even now that she is a spirit, empowered the pair to win and defeat the evil sorcerer for good.

Yuta kissed Riko, giving her so much strength, joy, and love that she blasted Geto with a life-ending hit. Geto shared one last candid interaction with previous best friend Gojo before passing away, in a depressing moment that made fans wonder what could’ve been had the pair been able to fight alongside each other, rather than Geto straying down the wrong path. His death is devastating, and this moment represents important character development for Gojo as well, since the loss of his dearest friend impacts him greatly over the course of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Sukuna Vs. Jogo Proved Sukuna’s Power Levels Are Higher Than Other Curses

Chapters 114-116, episode 40

Sukuna and Jogo’s fight was a fascinating moment because it showed two curses battling one another to the death. The King of Curses made a deal with the weaker curse: if Jogo could land even one blow, he offered to kill all the humans in Shibuya. The horrifying faceoff ended in Jogo’s demise rather quickly, showcasing Sukuna’s sheer power and lack of mercy even against fellow curses.

Sukuna was even stronger at this moment than previously, because Yuji had consumed even more of his fingers, thanks to Jogo’s help. Although he fed Yuji the fingers to further the curses’ plan of eradicating humanity, this action ironically caused his own death. This fight is one of the series’ best because it represents the true horror and might of the villain Sukuna, as well as showing his cruel nature. He was even willing to kill a fellow curse if it benefitted him, proving him to be a heartless and selfish being.

Mahoraga Vs. Sukuna Was A Stunning Encounter Between Titans

Chapters 118-119, episode 41

Mahoraga vs. Sukuna is a surprising battle because the cursed spirit Sukuna actually fights to save the life of a human, but this is only to further his own goals, not out of any genuine care for Megumi’s life. In the fight, The King of Curses hit the shikigami Mahoraga with a number of techniques including Dismantle. Eventually, he brought out Malevolent Shrine, his domain expansion, to win the battle.

Although this was not the first time Sukuna showed off his terrifying domain, this scene offered fans a more in-depth look at the King of Curses’ full abilities. This was one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s best fights by far because Mahoraga was one of the first to give Sukuna some difficulty, causing the King of Curses to unleash his full power in order to prevail. The fast-paced fight is animated incredibly, with an extended version that was recently released in the Blu-ray edition of the anime’s second season.

3
Gojo Vs. Hanami, Jogo, and Choso Showcased Gojo’s Sheer Power

Chapters 84-85 and 88-90, episodes 32-33

Gojo vs. the Special Grade curses was one of the most eagerly anticipated battles in the entire Shibuya Incident arc, with fans extremely excited to see the encounter finally animated. This battle seemed to unlock a crazed and uninhibited side of Gojo’s personality and fighting style, where the strongest sorcerer truly held nothing back. In a situation where the stakes could not have been higher, Gojo’s sheer godlike power did not disappoint.

Hanami and Jogo worked together and even used Domain Amplification to counter Gojo’s Limitless, but once Gojo unleashed his Six Eyes and Limitless abilities, the victor of the clash was obvious. This battle is one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s best because it shows Gojo’s unmatched strength. It is one of the first times he has shed the blindfold and revealed his eyes in battle, making him even mightier than before. Even against two intimidating Special Grades, Satoru prevailed, showing off some truly impressive moves with his techniques along the way.

2
Toji Vs. Gojo Rematch Cemented Gojo’s Status As The Strongest Sorcerer

Chapters 74-75, episode 28

Satoru Gojo and Toji Fushiguro’s confrontation was one of the most intense and shocking in the entire Jujutsu Kaisen series. Their first fight does not end well for Satoru, with him being stabbed by Toji’s Inverted Spear of Heaven, leaving him completely defeated and bleeding. However, much to Fushiguro’s dismay, even this attack by someone much older and more experienced was not enough to kill the strongest sorcerer.

This battle is important to Jujutsu Kaisen because, in a surprising turn of events, Gojo awakens to his true power and makes short work of an opponent who had bested him before. The fight also includes Satoru’s famous quote, “Throughout Heaven and Earth I alone am the Honored One.”

Yuji Vs. Mahito Revealed A Different, Colder Side Of Yuji

Chapters 130-132, episode 45

Yuji Itadori, Jujutsu Kaisen’s protagonist, often acts like a typical teenager, getting into goofy antics, joking around, and generally exhibiting a fun-loving personality. However, after the tragic occurrences and deaths he witnessed in the Shibuya Incident arc at the hands of Mahito, the once lighthearted hero had shifted into a furious and vengeful demeanor. When Toji’s efforts and sacrifice of a hand put Yuji in the position to end Mahito, Yuji decimated the villain in an amazing way, showing no mercy.

The scene of Yuji chasing Mahito as he stumbles through the snow is not only remarkable to watch, but carries emotional depth too. After suffering from the cursed spirit’s cruel actions for months, this moment gave Itadori a chance to make Mahito pay for all the deaths and injury he caused. The perfectly animated scene also included flawless symbolism, representing Mahito as a helpless rabbit and Yuji as a terrifying wolf. Due to its buildup, delivery, and incredible symbolism, this battle stands out as one of the best in Jujutsu Kaisen.
